Two boxes, one answer. Your card is remembered for every game you check. On the 202 games with a benchmark you get the real FPS at 1080p; on the rest, a verdict against the official requirements. We never make up an FPS number.

The games whose requirements the most people checked over the last 7 days.
Just out or about to land, with their requirements already published.
The ones asking for the most GPU, among the games people actually check.
What most people are playing on Steam right now, with the card they ask for as a minimum and the one the studio recommends.
Type your graphics card above and compare: we tell you whether it meets the minimum requirements, the recommended ones or neither, game by game. The graphics card is what decides in almost every case; the processor only matters when it is very old.
They are the official ones each studio publishes, exactly as declared. We neither interpret nor round them: if a game asks for "RX 6700 XT or RTX 2080", we keep both and the bar is set by the lower one, because meeting either is enough.
Only where somebody measured it. A compatibility verdict just needs to know whether your card sits above or below the bar, and that we do know. Putting an exact FPS figure on any game with any card is a different thing, and we tested it: it misses too often to publish. You will see FPS on the games that have real benchmarks.
30 is the playable floor and it feels tight. 60 is the sensible target: the image responds and does not tire you out. Above 60 only pays off with a monitor faster than 60 Hz. And steadiness beats the average: a constant 50 plays better than swinging between 40 and 90.
Today's mid-range cards have plenty of room across most of the catalogue: check the "What can your graphics card run?" block above, which says how many games each model clears at recommended quality. Dropping one quality step usually buys 15% to 25% more FPS with barely any visible change.
16 GB is today's standard in recommended requirements and it covers almost everything. With 8 GB you get into the lighter games, but on recent ones you will feel stutter when areas load — and that is not fixed by lowering graphics settings.
It will start and it will be playable, which is all the minimum guarantees: usually 1080p, low quality and around 30 FPS. The recommended specs are the ones aiming at a comfortable experience, near 60 FPS at high quality. If you sit between the two, the game runs: you will have to touch a setting or two.
We read each game's official requirements, identify the card they ask for and place it in an index of 1.153 models. Comparing your card against that reference is what produces the verdict. We checked that ordering against FPS measured in a benchmark and it holds up, which is why we publish a verdict rather than an FPS figure: we tested the latter and it misses too often to put on a page. With an Intel Arc we would rather say we do not know, because the index places them below what they actually deliver in game.
