Gamecost app terms and conditions

Last updated: 23 September 2026.

Gamecost is GoCDKeys' free app for discovering games and comparing what they cost across shops. We do not sell games: when you buy, you buy from the shop, and your contract is with the shop. These terms set out the rules for using the app. By creating an account or using Gamecost you accept them; if you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Gamecost is developed and run by:

  • Overthings, S.L.
  • Company tax ID (CIF): B57925703
  • Avenida Alejandro Rosello, 1, 07002 Palma de Mallorca, Illes Balears, Spain
  • Email: hello@gocdkeys.com

These terms apply to the Gamecost app for iOS and Android and to the services it relies on, such as your account and price alerts. Our websites (gocdkeys.com and its country versions) are covered by their own legal notice and privacy policy.

What data we process in the app, and on what legal basis, is explained in the Gamecost section of our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Cookies on our websites are described in the cookie policy; the app uses no advertising or measurement cookies.

2. What Gamecost is

Gamecost helps you find games that suit your taste and see where they are cheapest. In particular, the app lets you:

  • get recommendations with an affinity score based on the platforms, categories and games you pick and on your thumbs-up and thumbs-down votes;
  • compare a game's offers across shops, with their format (Steam key, account, gift and so on) and price history;
  • save games to your wishlist and set alerts so we can send you a notification when they drop to the price you want;
  • connect your Steam account to import your library and sharpen your recommendations;
  • search for games by name, or by describing in your own words what you feel like playing;
  • see games similar to one you like, how many people are playing it on Steam right now and who is streaming it on Twitch;
  • watch videos of the game and share its page;
  • go to the shop of your choice to buy it.

The app is free. It has no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.

Gamecost keeps evolving: we may add, change or remove features. If we remove something that matters to you, we will try to give you notice in the app.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Gamecost. You can create one with the methods the app offers at the time, such as a one-time code we email to you, your Steam account or, on iPhone, Sign in with Apple. We do not use passwords.

You must be at least 14 to create an account, or the minimum age required in your country: 15 in France and Portugal and 16 in Germany.

Your account is personal. Keep access to your email and to the accounts you sign in with secure, because anyone who gets into them can get into Gamecost. If you think someone has used your account without permission, let us know.

If you connect Steam, we use your public profile data and game library only as described in the privacy policy. Your Steam account remains subject to Valve's terms.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Gamecost for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:

  • extract data from the app or its services by automated means, or reuse our prices, listings or recommendations in another product or service;
  • try to get around usage limits, security measures or access controls, or access the services other than through the app itself;
  • decompile or modify the app, except to the extent the law expressly allows;
  • use the app for anything unlawful, to impersonate someone else, or to harm other users or our services;
  • type personal data about yourself or others, or offensive or unlawful text, into the natural-language search;
  • create accounts in bulk or by automated means.

If you break these rules seriously or repeatedly, we may restrict your access or close your account. Unless there is an urgent or legal reason not to, we will warn you first and tell you why.

5. Prices, offers and purchases

The prices and offers you see in Gamecost are published by third-party shops and collected automatically. They change often and may be out of date or wrong. Where we know it, we add the payment fee the shop charges, but that is an estimate: the final amount depends on the shop and on the payment method you choose. Prices are for guidance only and are not an offer to sell by us. Always check the final price, region, edition and platform on the shop's page before you pay.

When you tap an offer, we open the shop's website. You make the purchase there, and the contract is between you and the shop: the shop is the seller, takes your payment, delivers the product and is responsible for its validity, refunds and customer service. Any complaint about a purchase must go to the shop.

Gamecost is free because some shops pay us a commission when you buy after arriving from us. That commission does not change the price you pay, and our arrangements with shops do not decide the order in which offers are shown.

Some shops resell keys bought elsewhere. We label each offer's format where we can identify it, but we do not verify where individual keys come from and give no guarantee about them.

6. Price alerts and notifications

Alerts are checked regularly and we send you a notification when a game reaches the price you set. We do our best to get them to you on time, but we cannot guarantee it: they depend on your notifications being switched on, on Apple, Google and Expo, who deliver them, and on the offer still being available when you open it. A price may change or sell out between the alert and your visit to the shop.

You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings, and delete your alerts in the app.

7. Recommendations and natural-language search

The affinity score and recommendations are worked out by our algorithms from your tastes and public data about the games. They are there to help you discover games, not a promise that you will like them.

Natural-language search uses an automated artificial-intelligence system (Anthropic's Claude) to turn what you type into catalogue filters. It may misread a phrase or return results you did not expect. Do not enter personal data into it.

8. Third-party content and services

The app shows information from third parties, such as synopses, reviews and player counts from Steam, OpenCritic scores, Twitch streams and YouTube videos. That content belongs to its owners, is shown as we receive it and may be subject to its own terms. Game, shop and platform names are trademarks of their respective owners; showing them does not mean those owners sponsor, endorse or are connected with us.

If you sign in with or connect to third-party services (Steam, Apple or others), their terms and privacy policies also apply.

9. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Gamecost has no in-app purchases and no paid subscriptions. If we ever add paid features, we will tell you in advance and update these terms; such purchases would be handled by the App Store or Google Play under their own terms, including their refund rules.

10. Intellectual property and licence

The app, its design, code and text, and the Gamecost and GoCDKeys brands belong to Overthings, S.L. or its licensors. We grant you a personal, free, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the app on your devices in line with these terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. You acquire no other rights in it.

If you download Gamecost from the App Store, these terms are between you and Overthings, S.L., not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Anything these terms do not cover is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

If you download it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Neither Apple nor Google is a party to these terms.

11. Availability of the service

Gamecost is provided as is and as available. We try to keep it running at all times, but there may be outages, errors or interruptions for maintenance, because of third-party failures or for reasons outside our control. We may stop offering the app; if we do, we will give you reasonable notice so you can delete your account.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • the price a shop finally charges you, or any difference from the price shown in the app;
  • the availability, region, edition, language, platform or validity of any key, code or product;
  • delivery, activation, refunds, chargebacks, warranty or customer service, which are the shop's responsibility;
  • anything shops or other third parties do, or the content of their websites and services;
  • an alert that arrives late or not at all, or a recommendation that misses the mark.

Nothing above excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or gross negligence or for death or personal injury, or the rights you have under consumer and data protection law.

You are responsible for your own use of the app in line with these terms.

13. Leaving and deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Profile → Delete account, or without the app on this page, using a code we email to you. Deleting it immediately removes your account, wishlist, tastes, alerts, library and your Steam and Apple links.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.

We may close your account if you seriously breach these terms, as explained in section 4.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect; if you do not agree, you can delete your account. If you keep using Gamecost afterwards, we will take it that you accept the new version.

15. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim before the courts where you are domiciled. Before going to court, please write to us: most things can be sorted out by talking.

16. Contact
