Giveaway rules

These apply to every giveaway on Gocdkeys. If a specific giveaway has something extra, such as a ticket cap, you'll find it on its own page.

US, Europe and UK only. For now, giveaways are only open to people living in the US, Europe or the UK: in other countries the prize versions and regions may not be compatible. If the winner is not from these areas, the prize will not be delivered.

No multiple accounts. Each person may only have one account. If we find someone using several, all linked accounts will be closed.

1. Entering is free. You can only enter with red tickets, and tickets are never sold: you earn them by using the site.
2. One entry per person per giveaway, but you can raise your stake: add more tickets any time while it's open. They leave your balance the moment you put them in.
3. The more tickets you use, the better your chances of winning. But not proportionally: each entrant weighs the square root of their tickets: 1 ticket weighs 1, 4 weigh 2, 25 weigh 5 and 100 weigh 10. Big spenders get an edge, not the whole pot.
4. Per-person cap. A giveaway can set a maximum number of tickets per user. If it has one, it's shown on its page and it applies to your running total, not to each top-up.
5. Your odds drop as more people join. Your chance is your weight divided by everyone's combined weight, so each new entrant shaves a little off.
6. Minimum entrants and tiers. Every giveaway needs a minimum number of entrants to go ahead, and gives away more copies as more people join: each giveaway sets its own and shows them on its page, for example 500 entrants → 2 copies · 900 → 3 copies.
7. If the minimum isn't reached, you lose nothing. The giveaway is called off and every ticket you put in goes back to your balance.
8. One prize per person. When several copies are up for grabs, nobody can win two.
9. Winners are public. Their username appears on the giveaway page and in the latest winners list, and we announce it on all our social channels. We never publish email addresses.
10. How prizes are delivered. The winner must get in touch through our contact page within 72 hours of the giveaway closing. From then on, we deliver the prize within 48 hours.
11. If the winner doesn't get in touch in time, we draw again. After 72 hours with no word from them, they lose the prize and we draw it again among the other entrants, using the same system.
12. No fake visits or sign-ups. Share tickets only count for real people. Visits or sign-ups that are automated, bought or made by you cancel any tickets earned that way.

Spread your tickets. Because the draw uses the square root, 100 tickets in one giveaway weigh 10, while 25 tickets in each of four giveaways weigh 5 apiece, 20 in total. If several prizes catch your eye, splitting improves your odds of landing one.

Auction terms and conditions

These conditions apply to every Gocdkeys ticket auction. By bidding you confirm that you have read and accept them.

1. What they are. Auctions are a way of using Gocdkeys tickets to try to win a prize (for example, a gift card or a game). Each auction has a single prize, which goes to the user holding the highest bid when time runs out, once Gocdkeys has reviewed and confirmed it.
2. Who can take part. Registered users with a valid email address and a single account per person. The same residency conditions (USA, Europe and the UK) and the same ban on multiple accounts as in giveaways apply. Some auctions require a minimum level, shown on the auction itself. The first time a user bids in an auction they must tick the box "I have read and accept the auction rules"; without that acceptance the bid is not placed. Gocdkeys records the date and time of the acceptance.
3. Tickets. Bids are placed with tickets only. Tickets are not sold, have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money. No purchase is required to take part.
4. Hold and return. While a user holds the highest bid, the tickets of that bid are reserved and cannot be used. If another user outbids them, the tickets return to their balance automatically. Only the tickets of the winning bid are spent, and only once Gocdkeys confirms it.
5. End of the auction. Each auction shows when it ends. If someone bids in the final minutes, the end is moved later so that others can respond, up to the maximum shown on the auction itself.
6. One win every 7 days. So that prizes are shared, each person can win at most one auction every 7 days. While a user is leading an auction they cannot bid in another one, and a user who has won an auction cannot bid again until 7 days have passed.
7. Review and fraud. Before confirming the winner, Gocdkeys reviews the auction. If it detects multiple accounts, blocked accounts, automation or any other form of cheating, it may void that user's bid and return the reserved tickets. In that case the auction is not cancelled: it reopens for another 24 hours, with nobody in the lead, so that it can still have a winner. Gocdkeys notifies the users who had already bid, and the minimum bid becomes the highest valid bid from the other users plus the increment (or the starting bid if there is none). The same applies if the leading user had already won another auction in the last 7 days. An auction can be reopened at most 3 times; after that it is cancelled with no winner. Gocdkeys may also choose to cancel the auction directly. The accounts involved may be excluded from auctions and giveaways.
8. Contacting the winner, 48-hour deadline and prize delivery. When Gocdkeys confirms the winner, it sends them a notice ("you won") at their account email address and shows it on the auction page. Gocdkeys then writes to the winner at that same address to deliver the prize. The winner has 48 hours, counted from the "you won" notice, to reply to that message; the deadline (date and time) is shown in the notice and on the auction page, and Gocdkeys sends a reminder 24 hours before it expires. The winner can also write to us using the “Contact us to get my prize” button on the auction page. Users are responsible for keeping a valid email address on their account and for checking their mail, including the spam folder. If the winner does not reply within those 48 hours, they lose the right to claim the prize: the tickets of the winning bid are not returned, the auction is closed without delivery, and that auction still counts as won for the limit of one win every 7 days. Gocdkeys may offer that prize again in a new auction. Once the winner replies, Gocdkeys delivers the prize manually. The prize cannot be exchanged for money or for another product.
9. Cancellation. Gocdkeys may cancel an auction before confirming the winner because of an error in the prize or its set-up, a technical fault or signs of fraud. In that case all reserved tickets are returned and nobody loses tickets.
10. Notices. Gocdkeys may email users about the auctions they take part in (outbid, about to end, reopened, won, 24 hours left to reply and receive the prize, cancelled). The "outbid", "few minutes left" and "auction reopened" notices can be turned off on the auction page or through the link included in each email.
