Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment set the launch for 27 August, and the list price on Steam is €49.99. That number already fails to describe what people actually pay: on PC the cheapest live listing sits at € (with coupon Gocdkeys), while the two console boards are still tied to their official storefronts. If you were about to buy Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy on PC without glancing at the other two, the gap deserves two minutes.
Three platforms, three starting prices

| What dominates the board | Steam activations | Boxed copies and Xbox codes | PSN codes and boxed copies |
| Sellers competing | A dozen or so | A handful | Barely any |
The bottom row explains most of the spread. A pre-release PC key market has enough sellers to undercut the official price weeks ahead of the date; the console listings are mostly retailers holding their own margin, so the number barely moves. Same game, same studio, three markets with nothing in common.

What are you buying when the console version undercuts the list price?
Not always a code. Three different things hide behind the same "cheapest" label:
- A standard code. Redeemed on your own account, it stays there. This is what you want.
- A boxed copy. Physical retail on PS5 and Xbox. Perfectly legitimate, but it ships, and the price rarely drops before release.
- Account access. The cheapest console line is often this: you log into somebody else's account instead of owning a copy. It works, it is cheap, and it is not yours.
Is there anything to gain by moving before launch?
On PC, yes: the resale boards already trade below the €49.99 list price, and that discount exists because sellers are competing for pre-release demand. On console the picture is flatter, since official storefronts and retailers set the number and there is nobody underneath them pushing it down.
The practical read: if the PC line is where you are going to play, the current gap against the list price is real money. If you are on Xbox or PS5, there is little penalty in waiting for launch week and watching the board instead of committing now.
Doubts that come up before paying
Which platform is cheapest right now?
PC at € (with coupon Gocdkeys), Xbox at € (with coupon GOCDKEYS15) and PS5 at € (with coupon GOCDKEYS15). Those figures are pulled live, so they are the ones on the boards above as you read this.
Do console codes work in any country?
No. PSN and Xbox codes are tied to the store of a specific country, and redeeming one outside its region fails. The region is printed on every card in the panels; read it before paying.
Why is the cheapest console offer account access?
Because a shared account costs the seller less than a genuine code, so it always undercuts. For a single-player game you intend to finish once it can be a reasonable saving; for anything you want to keep, pay for the standard format.
Does the Xbox One version run on Xbox Series X and S?
Yes. Xbox One titles are playable on Series X and S through backwards compatibility, which is why one listing covers both generations.
The summary, platform by platform
PC is the only board with enough sellers to beat the list price before release, so that is where the discount lives. Xbox sits in the middle, with a thin market and a couple of retail lines. PS5 pays the full platform toll. Compare the three panels, read the format on the card and then buy Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy key or its PS5 counterpart on whichever board is cheapest for a format you can actually use.
