Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment set the launch for 27 August, and the list price on Steam is €49.99. That number already fails to describe what people actually pay: on PC the cheapest live listing sits at € (with coupon Gocdkeys), while the two console boards are still tied to their official storefronts. If you were about to buy Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy on PC without glancing at the other two, the gap deserves two minutes.

What are you buying when the console version undercuts the list price?
Not always a code. Three different things hide behind the same "cheapest" label:
- A standard code. Redeemed on your own account, it stays there. This is what you want.
- A boxed copy. Physical retail on PS5 and Xbox. Perfectly legitimate, but it ships, and the price rarely drops before release.
- Account access. The cheapest console line is often this: you log into somebody else's account instead of owning a copy. It works, it is cheap, and it is not yours.
Is there anything to gain by moving before launch?
On PC, yes: the resale boards already trade below the €49.99 list price, and that discount exists because sellers are competing for pre-release demand. On console the picture is flatter, since official storefronts and retailers set the number and there is nobody underneath them pushing it down.
The practical read: if the PC line is where you are going to play, the current gap against the list price is real money. If you are on Xbox or PS5, there is little penalty in waiting for launch week and watching the board instead of committing now.
