Nivalis Nights came out yesterday, 29 September, so the obvious question is whether you can beat Steam's launch discount. You can, but not by a lot. Steam has it at €22.49, 10% off the €24.99 list price, until 13 October. The cheapest Steam Key we've found is at Driffle: €17.23 with the coupon GOCDKEYS10 (€18.25 with fees).
From a noodle stall to your own nightclub
Nivalis Nights is a slice-of-life sim by ION LANDS, published by 505 Games. It's set in Nivalis, a cyberpunk city that stretches from the ocean up into the clouds. You start out running a noodle stall and can build up to restaurants and nightclubs. Along the way you make friends and enemies, buy and decorate flats, go fishing, get around by boat, enter a cyberpunk chess tournament and find a partner. The weather is realistic, too.
The city has a darker side: CorpSec raids, a curfew and a serial killer on the loose. You can grow your own ingredients legally, or go out after curfew and sabotage your rivals.
It's a full release rather than early access, and it's available in 11 languages, including Spanish, French, German and Brazilian Portuguese. Italian isn't one of them.
After one day on sale, Steam users rate it Mostly Positive, with 73% of 1,017 reviews in favour (742).
Only six offers so far
Because it's so new, we're tracking only six offers from four stores. Two of them are keys:
- Driffle: €17.23 with the coupon GOCDKEYS10 (€18.25 with fees), Steam Key.
- G2A: €19.44 (€19.73 with fees), Steam Key.
Against Steam's discounted price, Driffle saves you about €4.24, or 19% with fees included.
The shared accounts aren't worth it
The rest are Steam Accounts, which give you access to someone else's account that has the game, not a copy of your own. G2A's is €16.39 (€16.68 with fees), only €1.57 less than the Driffle key. Difmark asks €20.82 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€21.76 with fees), which is more than the key, and has another at €33.59 with the same coupon (€35.10 with fees) that makes no sense at all.
Should you buy now or wait?
We've only been following the price since 23 September, pre-orders included. Six days of data isn't enough to say where it's heading. What we do see with most new releases is more stores joining in over the first few days.
If you want to start this week, Driffle's key is the cheapest way to have it in your own Steam library; every store is on the page to buy Nivalis Nights key. If you're in no hurry, set a price alert and see what turns up. Steam's launch discount lasts until 13 October, so you have some time.
