Moon Sweepers came out on Steam on 23 October and has been climbing the store's charts since. It launched with a 15% discount, which puts it at €7.64 (no fees). The offer is for a limited time, but we couldn't find an announced end date.
What kind of game Moon Sweepers is
It's a co-op game from Finnish studio DragDrop Games, and the setup is daft in a good way. The Lunar Surface Department wants the whole Moon cleaned, and the equipment budget is so tight you start with little more than a toothbrush.
You scoop up lunar dust, haul it to depots and sell the shipments. The money goes into better tools, more carrying capacity and vehicles, so each job goes a bit faster than the last. There's no combat. It's about slow, visible progress, with the grey ground turning clean behind you.
You can play alone or in online co-op with up to 16 people: you plus fifteen friends. The minimum specs are low: 64-bit Windows 10, an i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1650 or RX 570, and 2 GB of disk space. On Steam its reviews are "Mostly Positive": 78% of 2,404.
The price, and what we've seen so far
The cheapest Steam key comes from Steam itself, at €7.64 (no fees). Work the 15% back out and the regular price comes to roughly €9 (no fees), since 7.64 divided by 0.85 is 8.99. No reseller is beating Steam with a key this morning.
We started tracking it on 24 October, so we only have five days of data, and the price hasn't moved from €7.64 (no fees) in that time. That's far too short to talk about a historical low. You'll find every offer to buy Moon Sweepers key on the game page.
Should you buy it at 15% off?
The discount saves you about €1.35 against the regular price we worked out, and Steam charges no fees on top. That's not much. A bigger sale will probably come at some point, but nobody has said when.
If you're planning to play with friends, getting everyone in at the same time matters more than a euro and change. Playing solo and in no hurry? Waiting won't cost you much. Set a price alert with the price you want to pay and we'll email you when it drops.
Cheaper Steam accounts and gifts, and why we'd pass
Steam accounts (Steam Account) cost less. The cheapest is at Gamivo, €3.80 with the GCDKGamivo coupon (€4.68 with fees), followed by G2A at €4.54 with GCKG2AF1P6K (€4.83 with fees), K4G at €4.25 with GCDK14DEAL (€5.01 with fees) and Kinguin at €4.46 with OCTGOC10 (€5.16 with fees).
An account means you're handed the login for someone else's Steam account that already owns the game. It never lands in your library, and if the seller takes the account back, the game is gone. In a co-op game there's an extra catch: you're playing on a profile that isn't yours, your friends have to add that account to invite you, and your usual friends list isn't on it.
A Steam Gift works differently. The seller sends you the game as a gift and it ends up in your own library, just like a key. The cheapest, at Gamivo, is €6.35 (€7.56 with fees), only eight cents under Steam. The rest cost more than the official store, for example HRKGame at €7.98 with the Gocdkeys12 coupon (€8.92 with fees) or G2A at €8.92 with GCKG2AF1P6K (€9.21 with fees). For that little, we'd just buy it on Steam.
