Steam has Jurassic World Evolution 3 at 33% off, and plenty of sites are calling it the lowest price ever. On Steam that's roughly true, but it isn't new: our records show the same €40.19 in June and again in August. And a Steam Key costs less than that anyway. The cheapest one this morning is at Gameboost, €29.74 with the coupon GCDK13 (€31.08 with fees).
Update 1.5 is free, Prehistoric East is not
Two things landed on 29 September. Update 1.5 is free for everyone who owns the game: it adds the Walkway attraction, which lets you run raised paths through aviaries and over land and lagoon enclosures, brings the Carcharodontosaurus back as a full family unit and adds new weather settings in Sandbox.
The paid part is Prehistoric East, a dinosaur pack that costs €14.99 on Steam. It has five species (Nanshiungosaurus, Gobisaurus, Yangchuanosaurus, Sinosauropteryx and Tarbosaurus), more than 230 East Asia-inspired scenery pieces, 15 blueprints with pagodas, gates and walled gardens, and animated holographic dinosaur statues. We don't have offers for it in the comparator yet, so for now Steam is the place to get it.
The base game is rated Very Positive on Steam, with 93% of 7,596 reviews in favour.
Is €40.19 really the lowest it has been on Steam?
It ties the lowest, which is a different thing. In our price records Steam charged €40.19 (no fees) from 13 June to 10 July, again from 11 to 18 August, and it has been back at that price since 17 September, almost two weeks before the DLC came out. The list price is €59.99. We couldn't confirm when this discount ends, so we won't guess.
Five months of prices outside Steam
We compare 83 PC offers. The figures below are store prices without fees or coupons, so don't set them against the €31.08 above.
Looking only at stores that sell nothing but keys for this game, the cheapest key has moved between €30.04 and €39.69 since 28 April. The low was a single day, 4 September. For most of September it sat around €33.30. Today the cheapest list price is €34.02, a little under the five-month median of €34.79. Steam's discount hasn't dragged keys down, and nothing here looks like a bargain or a rip-off. It's the usual price.
You'll see much lower numbers in our price history, down to €16.04 on 3 September. Be careful with those. They come from stores that also sell Steam Accounts, and that figure matches a shared account, not a key. The history chart mixes formats and we can't separate them day by day.
The same goes for today's cheapest offer overall: Difmark, €5.87 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€6.13 with fees), Steam Account. You get the login to someone else's account that owns the game. It never shows up in your own library.
Buy today or hold out?
If you want to play now, the Gameboost key is €9.11 cheaper than Steam with fees included, about 23%. Every store is on the page to buy Jurassic World Evolution 3 key.
If you can wait, don't expect much. In five months the best key price we saw was only about €4 below today's list price. A price alert set near €30 is a realistic target.
Prices checked on the morning of 1 October.
