CONTROL Resonant lands on 24 September, developed and published by Remedy Entertainment. Right now the date and the asking price are the only two things anybody outside Remedy can actually check. Steam shows no user reviews, for the obvious reason that nobody outside the studio has played it, and there is no critic verdict either. So if someone tells you today whether it is worth 59.99 EUR, they are guessing.
The money, at least, sits still long enough to measure. The list price is 59.99 EUR on PC, PS5 and Xbox alike, and only one of those three platforms has anything underneath it.
The PC discount and where it comes from
The cheapest PC copy today is € (with coupon GCDK14DEAL) at K4G, a Steam Key you redeem on your own account. That leaves 18.70 EUR in your pocket against the 59.99 EUR Remedy is asking, a 31% cut.
Kinguin is the next rung down at 46.99 EUR, again a Steam Key. From there the savings dry up quickly: G2A has copies at 53.00 EUR and 53.98 EUR, and both Steam and Greenmangaming sit at the full 59.99 EUR.
Our own price record explains why that 31% showed up when it did. Last month the lowest PC figure we logged was 54.66 EUR. This month it dropped to 41.29 EUR, so the cut is days old, not weeks. You can follow it live on the CONTROL Resonant price page, or jump to the product page and buy CONTROL Resonant key for PC.
Five PC offers cost more than the official store
Eleven offers across six stores is a thin field, which is what you would expect weeks ahead of release. It also punctures the reflex that comparing prices always saves money, because five of those eleven ask more than Steam's own 59.99 EUR:
| Store | Price | Format |
|---|---|---|
| G2A | 65.31 EUR | Steam Gift |
| G2A | 65.31 EUR | Steam Gift |
| Kinguin | 66.39 EUR | Steam Gift |
| G2A | 75.59 EUR | Steam Key |
| Difmark Digital Keys | 91.43 EUR | Steam Gift |
That 65.31 EUR offer is listed twice by G2A, which is why the table shows the same store three times, and Difmark wants about 31 EUR more than the publisher's own shop. Sellers price as they please and several of these are gift copies with their own delivery rules, so nobody is pulling a fast one. What it does mean is that at preorder time the shop logo tells you almost nothing. Go by the number.
What a Steam Gift actually changes
Steam Gift shows up at both ends of the PC list: G2A's 53.00 EUR entry underneath Steam, Kinguin's 66.39 EUR well above it. With a gift the seller pushes the copy onto your Steam account instead of handing you a code to redeem yourself. Region rules work differently, so does any dispute you open, and on release day the seller still has to turn up and deliver.
PS5 preorders: three offers, one price
On PlayStation there is nothing to compare. The three offers on the PS5 page come from three different stores and every one of them reads 59.99 EUR: Difmark sells an account, Fnac ES has the physical edition, and the PlayStation Store has the PSN Key. Same money whichever you click, so the only thing left to decide is what you want to end up owning.
On Xbox nothing goes below the list price
Xbox looks much the same. Three offers, three stores, all of them at 59.99 EUR: Difmark with an Account Series X, Fnac ES with the physical edition, and Microsoft Store ES with the Xbox Series Key at . Microsoft is the one holding a code, and it costs exactly what Remedy asks for it. Preordering on Xbox today buys you nothing but the wait.
So: on PC there is a genuine 31% on the table before launch. On console you are only joining the queue early.
