LKA, the Florence studio behind The Town of Light and Martha Is Dead, has confirmed that its next game, When Sirens Fall Silent, is also coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until this week only the PC version had been announced, on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store. Wired Productions is publishing it again, and there's still no release date. A police case on the outskirts of Rome
Wired and LKA first showed the game last December. In June, studio founder and director Luca Dalcò presented gameplay at Day of the Devs during Summer Game Fest, and the console announcement came with a new in-engine trailer, "Act III: The Man".
You play Mila, a police officer in early-nineties Italy who is handed a high-profile case of kidnappings and murders while she struggles with her own past. What LKA has shown so far is an investigation game: you piece clues together and question people through branching, multiple-choice dialogue. The themes are as heavy as you'd expect from this team, with trauma, addiction, misogyny and human trafficking all on the list.
It isn't a sequel. LKA groups its games under the name "Storie Senza Voce" (stories without a voice), about people history forgot, and describes this one as a step forward for that universe rather than a continuation of either story.
Where Martha Is Dead is cheapest this morning
Martha Is Dead came out in February more than four years ago. It's a first-person psychological horror game set in Tuscany near the end of the Second World War: Giulia's twin sister, Martha, is found drowned in the lake, and you try to work out what happened. These are the cheapest offers for the standard edition, all global Steam Keys:

Gamivo shows the lowest figure with its coupon, but an €0.82 payment fee drops it to third once you reach checkout. CDKeys.com charges no fees, so €2.09 is what you actually pay. You'll also see a Steam Account at G2A for €3.47 (€3.76 with fees); with keys this cheap there's no reason to go for an account.
Is this the lowest it has been?
Very nearly. The lowest price we've logged for a key is €2.00, on 1 May, and the median since we started tracking it is €4.58. Our historical figures don't include fees, so the fair comparison is with CDKeys.com's €2.09, which has none either: nine cents above the record.
The real drop happened in the spring. In its first two years the cheapest store prices we recorded hardly ever went below €8; since April they've stayed around €2. That makes this a settled price rather than a sale about to run out, and waiting for a new low would save you a few cents at best.
Why the PC version is the one to get
Before launch, Wired confirmed that the PS4 and PS5 versions had been changed after talks with PlayStation. Several scenes can't be played there, including one where a face is peeled off and another where a body is cut open. The PC and Xbox versions are uncut. On PS5 it's dearer, too: the cheapest offer we list is an account, not a key, at €12.27 with coupon GOCDKEYS15 (€13.08 with fees).
Critics were split. On OpenCritic it has a 69 average from 95 reviews, rated "Fair", and 41% of critics recommend it. Go in expecting a slow, story-led game that gets very graphic in places, not a run of jump scares. If you'd rather start with LKA's first game, set in an old Tuscan psychiatric hospital, The Town of Light costs €1.45 with coupon GCDKGamivo at Gamivo (€2.25 with fees) as a Steam Key, against €18.99 on Steam.
