Blacksmith Master has a date for its full release: 19 November. That day Untitled Studio's forge-management sim leaves early access on Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, all of them on PC. Hooded Horse, the publisher, picked the same day GTA VI comes out, on the grounds that GTA VI launches only on PS5 and Xbox Series and PC players will be looking for something else to play.
The store price doesn't change with 1.0. Steam keeps charging €19.99, and the Steam Key is still around a third of that.
What version 1.0 adds
The big addition is Master Workers, one for each of the game's six trades. The Master Blacksmith unlocks siege weapons: ballistas, catapults, cannons and battering rams, built from more than a hundred different parts. The Master Assistant gives access to the tier-three smelter, and the Master Scholar opens up tier-five blueprint research.
Items now come in rarity tiers, from Common to Mythic. Workers also get a new pathfinding system, so they no longer move only in 45-degree lines around the forge. And the game ships in 17 languages.
If you buy it now, 1.0 arrives as a normal update. There's nothing extra to pay.
Where it's cheapest this morning
The cheapest Steam Key is at G2A: €6.04 with the coupon GCKG2AN7C5E (€6.33 with fees), Steam Key. Instant Gaming has it for €6.39 (no fees), Steam Key, and Cdkeys for €6.49 (no fees). With fees included, the G2A deal is 68% below Steam.
You'll also see a Steam Account at Difmark for €2.68 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€2.80 with fees). That's a shared account, not a copy on your own profile, and in a game you'll be updating for months we'd pay the difference for the key.
Has it been cheaper before?
A little. In our history for key stores (store prices, no fees or coupons) the lowest was €4.99, from late April to 8 May. Since June it has sat around €6, with short dips: €5.68 between 9 and 12 September, and €5.08 at Eneba on 26 and 27 September. This morning Eneba is back at €6.10 (€7.11 with fees).
The lowest Steam price we've recorded is €7.79, during a sale in May.
What Steam players make of it
On Steam, 2,530 players have left a review and the verdict is "Very Positive": 83% recommend it (2,100 positive). It's a management game about running a medieval forge. You take orders, design the pieces and organise the workers who make them.
Buy now or wait for 19 November?
If it appeals to you, there's little to gain by waiting. The key is already at a third of the Steam price, 1.0 doesn't change what the stores charge, and you get the update anyway. The only reason to hold off is to catch it near €5 again. For that, set a price alert. Every store is listed on the page to buy Blacksmith Master key.
