THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games have set a date for Titan Quest 2 to leave early access: version 1.0 arrives on 19 January. The announcement came yesterday, 23 September, with two more pieces of news attached. The game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S the same day, and on PC it gets more expensive. Steam charges €34.99 right now and will ask €49.99 once the 1.0 is out.
That's €15 saved on Steam alone for anyone who buys before January. Whether it's worth paying now for a game that isn't finished yet is another matter.
What the 1.0 adds
Titan Quest 2 is the direct sequel to the original Titan Quest, the action RPG steeped in Greek mythology. It has been in early access on Steam since 1 August last year, and the current build stops before the ending. The 1.0 completes the main campaign with the showdown against Nemesis, goddess of vengeance, and brings a far more complete multiplayer mode for up to four players.
People playing it so far seem fairly happy. Steam reviews are "Very Positive", with 81% of 17,426 in favour (14,115 positive).
On PC it stays on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The console editions already have their own pages with us, Titan Quest 2 PS5 and Titan Quest 2 Xbox, but we don't have reliable pre-order prices for them yet.
What it costs on PC this morning
Steam sells it for €34.99 (no fees), Steam Key. Only one reseller key comes in under that once the payment fee is added:

Gamivo saves you €1.70 against Steam. Eneba and Driffle cost more than buying from Valve, coupon or not.
The bigger gap is in gifts. A Steam Gift is a copy sent to you as a present, and it sits in your own account like any other purchase:

That Gamivo gift is the cheapest way to own the game today, €7.83 below Steam.
You'll also spot Difmark at €7.55 with coupon Gocdkeys (€7.89 with fees). That one is a Steam Account: you get the login for somebody else's account with the game on it, and nothing is added to your library. It's cheap for a reason, and we'd always go for a copy of your own.
Steam sales so far
We've been tracking the Steam price since late April, and the historical figures are without fees. The regular price has always been €34.99. It has dropped 30% to €24.49 three times: 4 to 8 May, 19 June to 11 July, and 8 to 15 August. Since 15 August it has stayed at €34.99.
For keys, the median in our records is €33.49 without fees. The lowest was €23.99 on 3 August last year, a few days after early access opened.
Buy now or wait for January?
If you know you'll play it at some point, buy before 19 January. You pay €15 less than Steam's new price, or almost €23 less with the Gamivo gift at €27.16.
Could it hit €24.49 again before then? It has three times already, but nobody can promise a fourth. If you'd rather hold out for it, set a price alert and we'll let you know when it drops.
Bear in mind you'd be buying an unfinished game, as the campaign has no ending until the 1.0. Waiting to play the complete version in one go is a fair choice. From 19 January, though, it will cost you €49.99 on Steam.
