Amazon has dropped Steelrising into the current Prime Gaming and Amazon Luna giveaway, along with three other games, and the claim window shuts today, 16 September. One day left, then. If you don't have Prime, or you have got here too late, what matters is what the game costs to buy outright: on PC that is a Steam Key at €2.12 (€2.22 with fees), while Steam is still asking €49.99 for the same thing.
What we know about the giveaway, and what we don't
Not a great deal, honestly. We have not checked which countries the promotion reaches, and we cannot tell you whether the copy stays with you once a subscription lapses, so read Amazon's own terms on that point before you count on keeping it. We don't know which store it lands in either, so nobody should assume a Steam key turns up in their inbox.
If the giveaway doesn't work out for you, the fallback is cheap enough that it barely stings.
What the PC version costs if you miss it
We took these figures on 16 September at 07:41 UTC, and key prices move from one day to the next. There were 59 live offers on the PC page, with Steam sitting at €49.99, no fees, as it has for as long as we have been watching it.
- Difmark Digital Keys: €2.12 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€2.22 with fees), Steam Key. The cheapest once you have actually paid.
- G2A: €2.02 with the coupon GCKG2AU1M4D (€2.31 with fees), Steam Key.
- Eneba: €1.69 with the coupon Gocdkeys10 (€2.38 with fees), Steam Key.
- Kinguin: €1.94 with the coupon SEPGOC10 (€2.44 with fees), Steam Key.
- CDKeys.com: €2.49, no fees, Steam Key.
- Gamivo: €1.82 with the coupon GCDKGamivo (€2.63 with fees), Steam Key.
Eneba advertises the lowest starting price of the lot, €1.69, and still finishes third, because its payment commission adds 69 cents to the bill. Difmark starts 43 cents higher and ends up 16 cents cheaper. That reshuffle is why every offer here carries two figures instead of one.
There is nothing left to wait for
We hold 233 days of price history for the PC Steam Key. The median is €2.18, so this morning's €2.12 sits about 3% under the usual asking price. Those history figures come without fees and without coupons, which is how we always report them.
Only 48 of those 233 days have been cheaper than today, and the lowest we have ever recorded is €2.00, on 30 April. Twelve cents, then, between the best day in our records and this morning. If you would rather be told than keep checking, you can set a price alert and forget about it.
Xbox is under four euros as well
The Xbox page had 19 offers. Eneba leads at €3.13 with the coupon Gocdkeys10 (€3.94 with fees), Xbox Key, and Kinguin follows at €3.40 with SEPGOC10 (€4.02 with fees), Xbox Key. CDKeys.com wants €4.09, no fees.
The one worth pausing on is Microsoft Store ES, at €3.99, no fees. That is five cents more than the cheapest reseller once the commission is counted. Five cents to buy from the platform holder, with no coupon to paste and no region to check, is a swap plenty of people will take.
PS5 is the expensive console
Seven offers, and not a single third-party PSN key in stock. That leaves the PlayStation Store at €39.99, no fees, as the price of a copy that is really yours: not far off twenty times what the PC key costs. If a PlayStation is all you own, that gap is hard to swallow.
There is one cheaper digital route, and it comes with a catch: a shared account at Difmark for €5.03 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€5.26 with fees). A shared account is a login to somebody else's library, not a licence in your name, and the access can be pulled at any moment. If you want something that stays yours, a physical copy at Amazon FR runs €16.90, no fees, and that is the sanest PS5 option on the page.
Is the game worth two euros?
Spiders developed it, Nacon published it, and it came out in September four years ago. It is a soulslike set in an alternate French Revolution, where the fighting is against automatons rather than men.
The verdict was lukewarm. Steam reviews land on "Mostly Positive": 3,333 positive against 1,233 negative, 4,566 in total. Round that off and one player in four walked away unhappy. At €49.99 that ratio would give anyone pause; at €2.22 with fees it is a different conversation, and the worst case is an evening lost.
There is also a separate DLC, Cagliostro's Secrets, with its own page and its own prices, which we have kept out of the figures above. So: if Prime Gaming gets it to you today, take it there. If it doesn't, buy Steelrising key on PC for €2.12 (€2.22 with fees) and spend the rest of your budget on something that needs it.
