Shelldiver reached console on 1 September, inside the Xbox Game Pass catalogue, and that announcement is the whole of what we know. We hold no console page for this game: no Xbox, no PS5, no Switch. Any figure we gave you for what a console copy costs would be invented, and we have not checked whether the PC version sits in the same catalogue either, so we are not going to assume it does.
What we did read, at six this morning, is the PC page. Four offers from four stores, with a little over three euros between the first and the last.
The console news, and where it stops
A game entering a subscription moves the question. It stops being where do I get this cheapest and becomes do I need to buy it at all. On a sixty-euro release that carries real weight. The cheapest code on our page this morning read €1.88, which is about what most people spend on a coffee.
A catalogue is a loan. Titles come in and go out again, the save file stays behind while the access disappears, and nobody warns you far in advance. Under two euros, owning the thing outright stops being a money decision at all.
Four stores, and not one shared account
Kinguin is cheapest at €1.88, Standard edition, Global region. Fanatical follows at €3.73, then CDKeys at €4.69, and Steam itself at €4.99 as of our reading on 5 September. All four are Global, all four are Standard.

The part worth stopping on is what the page does not contain. No stranger’s login, no Steam Gift transfer waiting on a friend request. All four entries are codes you redeem yourself and the game lands in your own library. On pages where the leading price is under two euros, the top entry is almost always access to somebody else’s account with the game already inside. Here the €1.88 buys exactly what the €4.99 buys.
Steam charges €3.11 more for the same download
Two and a half times the money, to be precise. As a percentage that sounds enormous; in cash it is three euros and eleven cents, which is the awkward thing about comparing prices down at this end. The ratio is dramatic and the saving fits in a pocket.
The middle of the page does not offer much either. Fanatical at €3.73 sits closer to Steam than to Kinguin, and CDKeys at €4.69 undercuts the official store by thirty cents. Four live offers is thin competition, and you can see it in how tightly the prices bunch up near the top.
116 days of readings, and a floor of €1.50
We have logged this page since 28 April and hold 116 days with a figure behind them. The record low is €1.50, set on 29 August by HRKGame.
Before that, nothing much happened. From 13 to 27 August the cheapest offer of the day moved between €1.96 and €1.99, and from the 15th to the 22nd it read €1.97 for eight days running without shifting a cent. Then it gave way: €1.67 on the 28th, €1.50 on the 29th, €1.57 on the 30th and the 31st. Four days, and the window closed again.
September has gone straight back to normal. €1.89 on the 1st and 2nd, €1.97 on the 3rd, €1.99 on the 4th and 5th, €1.88 yesterday and the same €1.88 this morning. You are paying 38 cents above the floor. Across four months of readings the price has never travelled more than half a euro, so setting an alert here means waiting for small change.
A month of the subscription, or a copy that stays yours
Gagonfe developed it and published it, and the PC version came out on a 16 November. Steam gives it Overwhelmingly Positive: 16,027 good reviews out of 16,354. That leaves 327 unhappy players out of more than sixteen thousand, a shade over 98 percent, and you do not see that figure often on a page with that many opinions behind it.
It also runs on almost anything. The minimum specs on the Steam page ask for Windows 10, a Core 2 Duo E8400 or a Phenom II X2 550, 8 GB of RAM and a GeForce 8800 GT with 512 MB.
Which leaves a short sum to do. A subscription is charged every month and takes the game away when the licence runs out; €1.88 is paid once and the copy stays. We have not verified what Game Pass costs, so we are not putting a number on it here, but you already know what a month runs to and the price of a permanent copy is up there. If you want it on PC and you want it to be yours, buy Shelldiver key at €1.88 and the matter is closed.
