Amazon is opening the month by handing Just Die Already to Prime members, next to War Hospital. You claim it, you keep it, and it travels with your Prime subscription.
If you don't pay for Prime, the game costs €1.00 on PC.
What the Prime giveaway covers
Both games arrive through the Prime Gaming side of Amazon Luna, with the usual wording: claim it once and it stays with you. There are two things we won't tell you because we haven't verified them, and they matter: which launcher the copy ends up in, and how many days are left to claim it. Amazon's own page answers both, and it's the only place worth checking.
What we can say is that the copy is attached to the subscription. Prime is what you pay for; the games are what Amazon puts on top of it this month.
€1.00 buys the cheapest PC code
Our PC page holds 24 offers from 17 shops. The first one is Gamivo at €1.00: Standard edition, global Steam code, no region to worry about. You paste it into Steam yourself and the game lands in your library next to everything else you own, and it stays there whether or not you keep paying Amazon anything.
Behind it the queue is tight. Kinguin asks €1.21 for the Europe region, HRKGame €1.26, CDKeys and Instant Gaming both stop at €1.29, Difmark at €1.32. Eneba runs three of them — €1.33 global, €1.46 Europe, €1.54 United States — followed by Gamivo's Europe code at €1.55, Wyrel at €1.68 and two G2A offers at €2.33 and €2.34.
Fourteen of the 24 sit under €3.00. From Fanatical's €11.09 upwards you are paying eleven times as much for exactly the same game: GamesPlanet €11.63, Playerland €13.49, Green Man Gaming €13.99, Fortunadigital €14.99. Whatever you decide before you buy Just Die Already key, you decide it inside that first euro and a half.
The two Steam Gift offers work differently
HRKGame's €1.26 for Europe and G2A's €2.70 global are Steam Gift, and there is no code to paste in either. A seller sends you the game as a present from their own account, you accept it, and the copy stays in your library afterwards. That last part makes it a real copy of your own. The friction is procedural: sellers often want you to add them as a friend first, and a gift can carry a region restriction. G2A also lists two regional Steam Gift offers at €15.00, fifteen times the cheapest code on the same page.
On Xbox the two cheapest offers belong to somebody else
Difmark's €2.10 shows up twice on the Xbox page, once for Xbox One and once for Series, and both are accounts. You buy the login to a profile that already has the game sitting in it. Nothing reaches your own library, you can't gift it or resell it, and the day the original owner changes the password there is no one to complain to.
The first Xbox code you redeem yourself comes from Eneba: €3.90 for the United States, €4.00 for Europe. Region matters here, because the American code will not open on a European account. Then it climbs: Gamivo at €12.57 for Europe, G2A at €15.56, Kinguin at €43.91. The Microsoft Store sits in the middle of that, though we have to date those readings — €13.94 in the United Kingdom and €13.99 in Germany when we last read them in mid-May, €13.99 in Spain in early July, and none of the three has refreshed since. Even taking them as old readings, the gap holds: Microsoft was asking €13.99 for what a European Eneba code settles at €4.00 today.

1,024 daily readings, and hardly any movement
We have taken a reading on this game every day since a week before it came out: 1,024 of them. On PC it has been welded to a euro all summer — €1.02 through most of July and the first half of August, €0.99 from the 18th to the 21st of August, and exactly €1.00 from the 22nd until this morning. Xbox hasn't shifted off €2.10 since July.
No discount is coming that beats a euro. Watching the page costs you more attention than the game costs money.
Is it any good? Thirteen reviews say not really
We have no Steam verdict for Just Die Already in our database, so here is what we do have. OpenCritic has collected 13 reviews, 8 of them from outlets it counts as top critics. The top-critic average is 62.5 out of 100, the median is 60, and 38% of the reviews recommend it. OpenCritic files the game under Weak.
That matches what it looks like from the outside. DoubleMoose Games made it, Curve Digital published it and it came out on 20 May. You play an old man who escapes his retirement home and works through a list of challenges by mutilating himself on the scenery, four players at a time, physics doing most of the comedy. Nobody was aiming for a masterpiece.
At full price a 62.5 average is a reason to walk away. At €1.00, with three friends in the lobby, the sums are different — and if Prime is already on your account, you don't even have to do them.
