Green Man Gaming has cut the price of Outlast Trinity just in time for Halloween. Since 23 October the bundle's Steam Key has been €3.93 (no fees), the lowest we've seen it in 558 days of tracking. Its median is €7.90 (historical figures don't include fees), so it's going for half what it usually costs. There are 22 offers in stock.
Whenever a collection drops this far, the same question comes up: is the bundle the better buy, or should you pick up the games one by one? With Outlast, it comes down to what's already sitting in your Steam library.
What's in Outlast Trinity
It's Red Barrels' first-person horror, all three parts:
- Outlast. Journalist Miles Upshur follows a tip into Mount Massive Asylum. You can't fight back. You run, hide under beds and in lockers, and find your way through the dark with your camcorder's night vision while the batteries drain. Metacritic critic score: 80.
- Outlast: Whistleblower. You play Waylon Park, the software engineer who sent that tip. It starts before Miles turns up and then runs alongside the main game. Shorter, and a lot nastier. It's a DLC, so you need Outlast to play it. Metacritic: 76.
- Outlast 2. New lead, cameraman Blake Langermann, and a new setting: a remote village in the Arizona desert run by a cult. Longer than the first, with bigger areas to get lost in. Metacritic: 75.
The Outlast Trials is a separate co-op game and isn't part of the bundle.
What each game costs on its own
| Game | Best offer today | Historical median (no fees) |
|---|---|---|
| Outlast Trinity | Green Man Gaming: €3.93 (no fees) | €7.90 |
| Outlast | Green Man Gaming: €1.48 (no fees) | €3.15 |
| Outlast: Whistleblower | Difmark: €1.65 with the Gocdkeys coupon (€1.72 with fees) | €2.19 |
| Outlast 2 | Green Man Gaming: €1.95 (no fees) | €2.49 |
The original Outlast is at a record low too: €1.48 is 53% under its median, and we haven't seen it cheaper in 650 days. Outlast 2 is €19.50 on Steam (no fees), which makes the Green Man Gaming key a tenth of that.
Add up the best offer for each and the three come to €5.15 with fees. The bundle is €3.93, so it saves you €1.22.
Bundle or singles: it depends on your library
- You own none of them. Get the bundle. It's €1.22 cheaper than buying separately, and it's one key for the whole series.
- You own Outlast but not the DLC. The bundle stops making sense here. Whistleblower (€1.72 with fees) plus Outlast 2 (€1.95) comes to €3.67, a bit less than Trinity, and you're not paying twice for a game you already have.
- You own Outlast and Whistleblower. All you're missing is Outlast 2, at €1.95 (no fees). Easy call.
- You only care about the asylum. Outlast alone is €1.48, or €3.20 with the DLC. If you think you'll end up playing the sequel anyway, the bundle is only 73 cents more.
Check your Steam library before you pay. The first Outlast has been in a lot of sales and bundles over the years, and plenty of people own it without realising.
Is now the time to buy?
We've never seen it below €3.93, and it lands in Halloween week, which is when you're most likely to want it. If you have none of the three, this is a good moment to buy Outlast Trinity key. If you'd rather wait in case it dips further, set a price alert for Outlast Trinity and we'll email you. On PS4 and Xbox the bundle has no offers worth mentioning right now.
