GamesPlanet opened its weekly deals on Monday 19 October, and Frostpunk is in there at €3.36 (no fees), 87% off, with the choice of a Steam Key or a GOG Key. Steam itself still asks €29.99 (no fees). On paper that's the kind of discount you jump on. Anyone who buys from key stores will recognise the number, though: Frostpunk has spent most of the last year below €3.
What GamesPlanet is selling this week
GamesPlanet is an authorised official store. It gets its codes straight from publishers and doesn't add payment fees, so €3.36 is exactly what leaves your account. The GOG version is the interesting part: it's DRM-free, you download it from GOG Galaxy or the GOG website, and you never need Steam. No reseller on our list offers that for Frostpunk. This is a weekly deal, so it will only run for a few days, and GamesPlanet doesn't say exactly when it ends.
If you've never played it, Frostpunk is 11 bit studios' survival city builder. You run the last city on a frozen planet, built around a coal generator, and keep people alive by signing laws you'd rather not sign, such as child labour or 24-hour shifts. Steam players rate it Very Positive, 92% of 114,920 reviews, and it averages 85 across 92 critic reviews collected on OpenCritic.

Compare the last column, not the coupon prices. Gameseal and Gamivo look cheapest before checkout, at €1.98 and €2.00, but their payment fees push them to €2.53 and €2.82. Difmark wins at €2.37 with fees. If you'd rather not pay fees at all, Instant Gaming (€2.69) and CDKeys.com (€2.79) charge none and still come in under GamesPlanet.
The Game of the Year Edition for €4.40
The GOTY Edition is the game plus the Season Pass, which holds the two expansions, The Last Autumn and On The Edge. As a Steam Key, Gamivo has it for €3.53 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€4.40 with fees), Instant Gaming for €4.49 (no fees), CDKeys.com for €4.79 (no fees) and GamesPlanet for €5.35 (no fees).
Don't build it piece by piece at GamesPlanet. The Frostpunk Season Pass on its own costs €2.75 there (no fees, GOG Key), so this week's €3.36 base game plus the pass comes to €6.11. That's more than the full GOTY at Gamivo or Instant Gaming. If you think you'll want the expansions, buy the GOTY from the start.
Has Frostpunk been cheaper than this before?

So for key buyers, 87% off isn't really news. What GamesPlanet brings this week is an official store, no fees and the GOG option, for about a euro more than the cheapest reseller. If DRM-free matters to you, that's a fair trade. If you only care about the lowest total and want it on Steam, Difmark is the one, and there's no rush: set a price alert for Frostpunk if you want to wait for €2 again.
Frostpunk 2, if you've already played the first
Frostpunk 2 is also cheap at the moment: Gamivo sells the Steam Key for €3.44 with GCDKGamivo (€4.31 with fees), against €37.48 (no fees) on Steam. Players liked it less than the original, Mostly Positive with 74% of 21,049 reviews, so if you're new to the series, start with the first one.
