Deep Dish Dungeon came out on 13 October on PC, through Steam, and on Xbox Series X|S. It joined Xbox Game Pass the same day, so subscribers can play it on console, on PC or via cloud streaming without paying anything extra. There is no PlayStation or Nintendo version, and none has been announced.
It's made by Behold Studios, the Brazilian team behind Knights of Pen & Paper and Chroma Squad, and published by Raw Fury.
What kind of game is Deep Dish Dungeon?
A first-person dungeon crawler in the old style. There is no automap, so the game won't draw the corridors for you: you have to remember where you've been and work out the way back yourself, or keep notes. Along the way you solve puzzles, fight and pick up anything edible you come across.
That food is the hook. You cook what you bring back, and each meal boosts your stats for the next trip down. Every expedition doubles as a supply run.
You can play solo or in online co-op with up to two friends, three players in total. Multiplayer is cross-platform, so someone on Steam can team up with a friend playing on Xbox or through Game Pass. It is rated Steam Deck Verified, and there is a free demo on Steam.
What players and critics are saying
Steam reviews sit at "Mostly Positive", around 70% of roughly 165 reviews posted in the first few days. That's a small sample, and the figure could still swing either way. Critics are split: some outlets score it highly, others complain about the controls and combat that feels a bit stiff. Among players, the most common complaints are bugs and the single save slot.
How much does Deep Dish Dungeon cost?
The official price is $14.99. Steam is running a 15% launch discount until 27 October, which brings it to €12.74 (no fees). Steam Keys are cheaper: Instant Gaming has it for €10.49 (no fees), the best price this morning, and GamesPlanet for €10.71 (no fees). You redeem the key on Steam and the game sits in your library like any other purchase.

Buying it for Xbox
The Xbox Key we'd go for is Fanatical's at €11.92 (no fees). Key4Games is cheaper at €6.28 with coupon GOCDKEYS15 (€6.81 with fees), but that offer is an Xbox Account: a separate account that already owns the game. It isn't added to yours, so you'd have to sign in with that account to play. For a game built around co-op with your friends list, the key makes more sense. Every console offer is on the Deep Dish Dungeon Xbox page.
Is it worth paying for without Game Pass?
If you already pay for Game Pass, just download it. You can play it for as long as you keep the subscription and it stays in the catalogue.
If you don't, play the demo first. If finding your own way without a map appeals to you and the cooking hooks you, €10.49 for the Steam Key is a fair price for a game listed at $14.99. If the stiff combat or the single save slot puts you off, there's no rush: set a price alert for Deep Dish Dungeon and we'll email you when it reaches the price you pick.
Every store and format, with fees included, is on the page to buy Deep Dish Dungeon key.
