Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been part of Game Pass Premium since 25 September, playable through the cloud, on console, on handhelds and on PC. Before that, the only subscriptions that included it were Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, both of which have had it since launch day, 25 October.
For Xbox and PC players, that raises a simple question: is the subscription enough, or is it worth buying the game outright? On PS5 there is no question to ask.
What Premium subscribers get
Premium is the middle tier. As our guide to Essential, Premium and Ultimate explains, it doesn't get new releases on day one. Games published by Xbox arrive within 12 months instead, and Black Ops 6 made it in just under a year.
The usual subscription caveat applies. You can play it as long as you keep paying and it stays in the catalogue. Cancel, or see it rotate out, and you lose access.
The game was made by Treyarch and Raven. Its campaign is set in the early nineties against the backdrop of the Cold War, and alongside it you get multiplayer and round-based Zombies.
Buying it on Xbox
The cheapest Xbox Key we compare is at Eneba: €21.30 with the coupon Gocdkeys10 (€23.68 with fees), Xbox Key. You'll also see an account at Difmark for €4.19 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€4.38 with fees), Account. It's cheap because it isn't yours: you play on an account the store hands you, not on your own.
If you don't have Premium and would only sign up for this one game, set the months of subscription you'd need against a one-off €23.68 for a copy you keep. Every store is on the page to buy Call of Duty Black Ops 6 key.
PC buyers should hold off
The best PC offer is a Windows Key at Eneba, €23.17 with the coupon Gocdkeys10 (€25.71 with fees). Kinguin has a Steam Account for €15.42 with the coupon SEPGOC10 (€17.00 with fees), which again means playing on an account that isn't yours.
Timing is the issue here. Our history figures leave fees out: the PC key's median is €20.63 and its lowest was €13.35 on 13 June. Today it costs 12% more than usual, and it has been cheaper on 237 of the 423 days we've tracked. A price alert will email you when it drops.
PS5: buying is the only way
There's no Game Pass on PlayStation. For the PS5 version, the best PSN Key is at K4G: €24.56 with the coupon GCDK14DEAL (€27.05 with fees). PlayStation Store charges €79.99 (no fees). GamesPSN also sells an account for €10.90 (no fees), with the same catch as above.
Our take
Already paying for Premium and playing on Xbox or PC? Play it there and keep your money.
If you want to own it, the Xbox key at Eneba is the cheapest copy that's actually yours. On PC we'd set an alert and wait for the price to get back towards its median. On PS5 the key costs about a third of what Sony asks.
