Broken Arrow picked up its sixth Russian specialisation on 31 August. Russian Guard shipped inside update 1.2.0, sells for 9.99 dollars on Steam and brings in Rosgvardia troops, FSB operators and army reserve units, each with their own ground vehicles and aircraft. Steel Balalaika develops the game, Slitherine publishes it.
We do not list that DLC yet, so we cannot tell you where it is cheapest. That is a hole in our data and we would rather say so than fill it with guesswork. The base game is a different story. Today our buy Broken Arrow key page tracks 52 live offers across 22 stores, running from €12.07 at the bottom to €134.86 at the top, a price nobody should ever pay. Steam asks €36.74.
The four cheapest entries are shared Steam accounts
The four cheapest entries are not copies of the game. Gamivo at €12.07, Difmark at €12.99, Kinguin at €13.29 and G2A at €16.88 are all selling the same thing, sold as Global: the login details of a Steam account somebody else created.
So you play from a profile that is not yours. The game never appears in your own library, your hours and achievements pile up under a stranger's name, and the friends list comes with the package. There is a second catch, and with this game it is the one that matters: anything you buy later attaches to that account. Purchase Russian Guard from there and the DLC belongs to a profile you do not control. If the seller changes the password a month down the line, the game and the DLC go with it.
Only 4 of the 52 offers work like that. They sit at the very top of the list because they are the cheapest, which is exactly why the page looks like a steal for the first ten seconds.
€21.19 is the first copy that lands in your own library
An ordinary Steam key, Global region, from Cdkeys Com. You redeem it, the game shows up under your account, nobody else holds the password. Against the €36.74 Steam charges, that is 42 percent off, and it is the one number worth taking away from this page.
Instant Gaming follows at €21.99 with a Europe key, then Eneba at €22.87 with a Global one. Thirty-six of the 52 offers are plain keys, so there is real stock at this level. You are not chasing a single listing that will vanish while you think about it.
Europe, United States, Global: what the region tag changes
Ten offers sit between €21.19 and €26.49, and most of what separates them is the region, not the store. CJS-CDKeys has a United States key at €25.34 and a Europe one at €25.78. Driffle lists Europe at €25.89 and Global at €25.99. Gameboost wants €26.10 for Europe, Eneba €26.47, K4G €26.49 for Global.
A regional key only activates on a Steam account registered in that region, which depends on the country set on the account and the payment methods used on it. A Europe key is fine anywhere in the EU. A United States key bought from Spain or Germany usually stops dead at the activation screen, and most resellers treat a wrong-region purchase as the buyer's mistake. Global carries no such restriction, which is why it often costs a euro or two more. With barely five euros of spread across the whole group, paying that difference for Global is the cheap way to avoid an argument by email.
Vanguard and gift copies land above the Steam price
The Vanguard edition starts at €38.35 and we count 4 offers of it. Steam Gift copies start at €38.46, with 8 offers. Both sit above the €36.74 Valve charges for the standard game, so shopping on price alone there is nothing for you here. A gift also arrives through Steam's own gifting system rather than as a code, which puts one more step between paying and playing.
Three weeks with the floor barely moving
We hold 347 daily readings for this page. The cheapest offer has stayed between €12.45 and €13.72 for three weeks: €13.10 on 12 August, €12.99 on most days since the 24th, €12.27 yesterday. Neither the 1.2.0 update nor the DLC launch moved it. Every one of those lows is an account, so the true floor for a copy you own has been the low twenties the whole time.
One last sum. €21.19 for the game plus 9.99 dollars for Russian Guard still comes in under the €36.74 Steam charges for the base game on its own. If you were holding out for the DLC to drag prices down, it has not happened, and the price history says it is not about to.
As for whether it is your kind of game: Steam's verdict is Mixed, with 14,066 of 25,575 reviews positive, right around 55 percent. It launched on 19 June, and a real-time military strategy game this heavy on unit detail tends to split people that way. If the reviews convince you, the shortlist above is where to start.
