Breathedge is the survival game where you wake up inside a crashed space hearse with an immortal chicken for company. Daft premise, solid game: 11,858 of its 14,461 Steam reviews are positive, which is what earns it the Very Positive badge, and the critics settled on 71 on Metacritic. The odd part is the receipt. Depending on which machine you buy it for, the same game costs €1.23 or €29.99.
The same game, €1.23 on PC and €29.99 on PlayStation
Start with the two ends of the scale, because they carry most of the argument. The cheapest PC offer today is € (with coupon GCDKGamivo) at Gamivo, a Standard copy that arrives as a Steam key you redeem on your own account. The PlayStation Store wants €29.99 for the PS5 version. That is €28.76 between one and the other, for a game with the same chicken, the same wrecked hearse and the same ending.
Nobody is telling you to unplug the console. It is just worth knowing what the convenience costs before you tap buy.
28 offers across 16 stores on PC, and Steam is not the cheapest
The PC page is the crowded one: 28 live offers spread over 16 stores. Under €1.60 you already have Gamivo at €1.23 and €1.24, Eneba at €1.32, Kinguin at €1.35, K4G at €1.42 and Instant Gaming at €1.49, all Standard and all redeemable on Steam. HRKGame sits at €1.55 with a Steam Gift, which works differently: a seller hands the copy over from their own account instead of giving you a code to type in. The game still ends up in your library, the route there is just longer.
Valve’s own shop asks €2.49. A euro more than the resellers, and cheap enough that plenty of people will click it and get on with their evening. Above that the same Standard edition climbs quickly: GamesPlanet €4.90, Greenmangaming €5.44, Playerland €5.99, Allyouplay and GamersGate both at €6.25, and Fanatical on its own at €18.71.
One thing worth saying plainly. Every offer on the PC page is a copy you redeem yourself, with no borrowed logins anywhere on it. That is exactly where the console pages fall apart.
On Xbox the cheapest offer is an account, not a copy
There are four offers here and the first one needs a warning label. Difmark’s €4.99 is listed as an Account: what you pay for is the email and password of somebody else’s profile. The game is not yours, your saves live on that profile, and the day the password changes you are left with nothing.
The first genuine purchase is €7.37 at Gamivo, an Xbox key you redeem on your own account. G2A has another at €10.11. The Microsoft Store charges €24.99. So the honest comparison on Xbox runs €7.37 against €24.99, and the €4.99 can be treated as if it were not there.
On PlayStation there is no cheap route
PS4 and PS5 have two offers each, and both times it is the same choice: the official store or a shared account. On PS4 that means Difmark at €17.49 as an Account, or €24.99 in the PlayStation Store. On PS5, €24.99 as an Account or €29.99 official.
We recommend a real, redeemable copy whenever one exists. On PlayStation none exists below the official price, so the answer is the PlayStation Store at €24.99 or €29.99 — or the PC version, and you keep the difference.

Before you go looking for Breathedge 2
The sequel has exactly one offer at the moment: Difmark, €39.99, format Steam Account. The only thing on sale there is access to another person’s login, at a figure well above what the first game costs on any platform. We would leave it alone until a redeemable copy shows up.
Short version. On PC you can buy Breathedge key for a little over a euro and the game is yours. On Xbox, €7.37 at Gamivo, never the €4.99. On PlayStation, the official store. What you give up by going the PC route is the pad and the sofa you already have plugged in, and today that comfort is priced at €28.76.
