On 19 September a deals site reported that Steam keys for Bionic Bay had hit an all-time low, 92% under the official price. We ran that against our own records on the morning of the 21st and it checks out. The cheapest offer today is €1.49 (no fees), Steam Key, Global, at Cdkeys Com. Steam's regular price is €19.99, which puts the key 92.5% lower.
The awkward part is that Steam discounts this game constantly, so plenty of people will be tempted to sit tight for the next sale. We have logged every Steam price since late April, so we can answer that one with numbers rather than hunches.
A physics platformer about swapping places
Bionic Bay is a 2D platformer built on physics and set in a science-fiction world. It comes from Psychoflow Studio, is published by Kepler Interactive and launched in April last year. The core idea is swapping your character's position with objects in the level.
Steam users rate it "Very Positive", with 84% of 750 reviews in favour.
Steam's sales since April
Steam currently charges €6.24, the price it moved to on 19 September. The day before, it was still €4.99: that sale ran from 4 to 18 September and ended three days ago.
Here is every Steam price in our records since 28 April (store prices, no fees):
- €4.99: 28 April to 6 May, 15 to 19 June, 26 June to 10 July, 22 July to 5 August, and 4 to 18 September.
- €6.82: 8 May to 10 June.
- €6.24: 6 to 18 August, and again since 19 September.
- €19.99: the remaining days.
Steam has it discounted most of the time, then, and €4.99 is the lowest it has gone in our data. Today's €6.24 sits €1.25 above that.
Today's PC offers, and the lowest reseller price we have seen
Resellers have never sold Bionic Bay this cheap in our records. Our key history covers 170 days, and the previous low was €2.00 (no fees) on 29 August. These are the live offers for the standard edition, cheapest first once fees are included:

Difmark looks like a near tie, a cent behind on the base price. What it sells, though, is a Steam Account: login details for a shared account that already owns the game. A Steam Key is a code you redeem on your own Steam account, after which the game sits in your library like anything else you bought there. With fees counted, the Cdkeys Com key is also €0.08 cheaper, so we see no case for the account.
There is a Deluxe edition as well. We will leave its contents aside and stick to the price: keys start at €5.50 (no fees) at Greenmangaming, and Kinguin has one at €5.08 with the coupon SEPGOC10 (€5.83 with fees).
Should you wait for Steam?
Put the two floors side by side. The least Steam has asked in our records is €4.99. The Cdkeys Com key is €3.50 below that and activates on the same Steam account. Against today's €6.24 on Steam, the saving is €4.75.
If you want the game, this is a good time to buy Bionic Bay key. If you would rather pay Steam directly, skip the €6.24: it has dropped to €4.99 five times since April, and holding out for that price makes more sense. A price alert on the PC page will tell you when it moves.
PS5: 61 cents between your own copy and a shared account
On console the choice is simpler. The PlayStation Store sells it for €4.99 (no fees), PSN Key, while Difmark has an Account at €4.19 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€4.38 with fees).
For 61 cents more, the game goes on your own PSN account instead of someone else's, and we would pay that. Both offers are on the Bionic Bay PS5 page.
