Quantic Dream has put all four of its PC games on sale on Steam, and the deepest cut goes to Beyond: Two Souls: €0.99 (no fees) instead of €19.99, 95% off. The discount runs until 8 October at 17:00 UTC (10am Pacific). For once the advice is simple: buy it on Steam. No reseller we compare gets under that this morning.
Steam beats the cheapest reseller by 50 cents
Outside Steam, the best offer is Cdkeys Com at €1.49 (no fees), Steam Key. Kinguin, Gameseal, K4G and Eneba ask roughly the same before fees, and none of them beats it once fees are added. Nobody gets under Steam's price.
Half a euro is not much, but there is nothing to gain by paying it. Bought on Steam, the game goes straight into your library with no code to redeem and no region to check, and you can pay with Steam Wallet funds if you have any lying around.
Jodie, Aiden and a 76 on Metacritic
For anyone who missed it on PlayStation: you play Jodie Holmes across fifteen years of her life, from childhood to CIA agent, tied to an invisible entity called Aiden that you also control. Elliot Page and Willem Dafoe lead the cast in full performance capture. Like every Quantic Dream game it is an interactive drama, heavy on choices and cutscenes and light on challenge.
Steam's store page lists a Metacritic score of 76 for the PC version, and Steam user reviews are Very Positive: about 88% of nearly 43,800 are positive.
Heavy Rain, Detroit and Fahrenheit, game by game
The same sale, with the same end date, covers the rest of the studio's PC catalogue:
- Heavy Rain: €0.99 (no fees) on Steam, down from €19.99. The best Heavy Rain offer elsewhere is €1.49 (no fees) at Cdkeys Com, Steam Key.
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered: €0.99 (no fees) on Steam, from €9.99. This is the one game where a key wins: Cdkeys Com has it at €0.89 (no fees), Steam Key. Our Fahrenheit page has the other offers.
- Detroit: Become Human: €3.99 (no fees) on Steam, 90% off €39.99. The cheapest key is at Gameseal, €4.15 with coupon SEAL17CKD (€4.87 with fees), Steam Key. Gamivo goes lower with a Steam Gift at €2.43 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€3.27 with fees). A gift does end up in your own library, but these are often locked to a region, so read the listing first. Everything is on the Detroit: Become Human page.
The Quantic Dream Collection bundle: all four for €6.26
Steam also sells the four games as the Quantic Dream Collection, with an extra 10% off the sale prices: €6.26 (no fees) against €6.96 if you bought them one by one. The cheapest keys for the same four add up to €8.74 with fees, or €7.14 if you take the Detroit gift, so the bundle still comes out ahead. If you already own one or two of the games, Steam only charges you for the ones you are missing.
How cheap Beyond: Two Souls usually gets outside Steam
Over the past year, the cheapest store price for this game on a given day has mostly hovered around €2. In July and August it went lower still, with Driffle and Kinguin under €1. Those history figures are store prices before fees and coupons, so today's €1.49 is a good price for a key, not a record.
Steam has gone down to €0.99 before as well, and it will probably happen again, but nobody has announced when. After Thursday the game goes back to €19.99 there. If you would rather compare stores later, all the offers are on the page to buy Beyond Two Souls key.
Prices checked on the morning of 4 October.
