Since yesterday there is a headline doing the rounds: Terminator: Resistance has never been cheaper, on Steam and on consoles. We have been writing down what Teyon's shooter costs for more than six years, so checking it took a few minutes. It does not hold up. The PC page opens at 9.32 euros today and the lowest figure in our whole record is 8.57, so the game is near its floor rather than on it. And the offer holding that 9.32 is not a code.
The cheapest PC offer is a Steam Gift
There are 20 live offers spread across 13 stores. Kinguin sits on top with 9.32 euros and the format is a Steam Gift: a seller sends you the game as a present from their own account, and you never redeem anything yourself. The two G2A entries right behind it, both at 10.88, work the same way. Gifts are not a scam and plenty of buyers use them without a problem, but they depend on somebody else's Steam account, and that is rarely what people picture when they read "cheapest ever".
What the cheapest redeemable code costs
Skip the gifts and the first Steam Key belongs to Kinguin at 11.66 euros, more than two euros above the number in the headline. From there the prices bunch up so tightly that the store you trust matters more than the cents.

Gameseal at 12.11, another Kinguin at 12.16 and Gamivo at 12.44 fill the same gap. Live, the cheapest Steam Key we track is € (with coupon SEAL17CDK) at Gameseal. Above 13.29 the page loses interest fast: Eneba at 14.13, YUPLAY at 14.47, two G2A entries at 15.40 and 15.42, Gaming Dragons at 16.41. Then comes the jump to 39.99 at Greenmangaming and Humble Bundle, and 40.69 at GOG, which is selling the same Steam Key as everyone else.
The floor keeps sinking, the average does not budge
Our record for the PC version holds 2,775 price checks over more than six years, and the lowest figure in it is 8.57. Today's 9.32 sits above that, which is why the record talk is premature. Month by month the cheapest offer has gone 13.34, 13.30, 9.32, 9.28 and 8.57, so the floor really is sinking.
The monthly average over that same stretch barely twitched: 19.11, 19.66, 18.11, 19.01, 19.47. That gap tells you who is doing the cutting. One seller goes low while the other twelve stores stay where they were, and a price built on a single offer disappears the day that offer sells out.
On Xbox, the 1.30 euro offer is an account
The Xbox One page carries 16 offers from 8 stores and opens with K4G at 1.30 euros, where what you buy is an account: you log into a profile that is not yours to play. Difmark at 4.35, Driffle at 4.50 and the two G2A entries at 6.40 and 6.82 are the same arrangement. The first genuinely redeemable Xbox code is Eneba at 7.42, then it steps up to 11.95 at Eneba again, 13.75 at Kinguin, 14.33 at Gamivo and 15.20 at Kinguin. Right now the cheapest Xbox code sits at € (with coupon GOCDKEYS10). Microsoft's own store in Spain asks 39.99, more than five times the Eneba code, and if you want the Complete Ed. instead you are looking at 13.93 at Kinguin, 17.85 and 22.68 at Gamivo, and 23.00 at Kinguin.
PS4 has exactly one offer, and it is an account
There is nothing to compare on PS4: a single store with a single offer, Difmark at 7.99, sold as an account. The number happens to match the lowest price we have ever recorded on this version, which is exactly how a headline can be right about the figure and wrong about the product. A redeemable PS4 code is not on the page at any price today.
On PS5 the Enhanced version is the expensive one
Seven offers from six stores, and the cheapest is a disc: Amazon ES at 33.37. Behind it, Kinguin at 33.45 and Difmark at 35.09 are both accounts, then Amazon DE at 39.11, the PlayStation Store at 44.99, Amazon FR at 79.99 for the Collector Ed. and Amazon ES again at 98.48. Sony's own store is the fifth cheapest entry on its own console, and nothing here has come down. If a discount reached this version, it did not reach the shops.
So the honest summary is short: the only redeemable codes are 11.66 on PC and 7.42 on Xbox, and everything cheaper than that is a gift or somebody's account.
