Sony closed its latest State of Play with the announcement a good chunk of the internet had been waiting for since Rebirth ended: Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final part of the remake trilogy, has a date. The PC version arrives on 8 April.
Preorders opened the same night, so the useful question now is what it costs to lock the game in today and what you give up by doing it. Our page to buy Final Fantasy VII Revelation key carries four offers from three stores, and one of them needs reading twice before you pay.
Preorders open at €69.99, and there is a €99.99 version
Steam asks €69.99 for the Standard edition, which is the official announced price. Greenmangaming asks €69.99 too, and what it sells is a proper key you redeem yourself. On money there is nothing to choose between them.
Above both sits the Premium Edition, also at Greenmangaming, at €99.99, a gap of €30. We do not hold the contents of that edition on file, so take the list of extras from the store page rather than from us. What we can tell you is how this has gone before. With Remake and with Rebirth, the material bolted onto the big edition was the first thing to stop being worth its money: the game underneath gets cheaper every few months, the bundle follows it down, and the artbook or the summon you paid thirty euros for ends up costing a fraction of that inside a discounted pack a year later.

€49.99 buys a login, not a game
Sort by price and Difmark comes up first at €49.99, twenty euros under Steam, and it is not a key at all. The store’s own listing calls it a console account: you pay for access to a profile somebody else created, with the game sitting inside it.
Nothing lands in your library. The game sits where the seller put it, it never joins the rest of what you own, and the day the password changes you are done.
On a preorder that hurts more than usual. People who preorder want to play on day one, on their own account, with their own saves and their own achievements, and none of that survives a shared login. The twenty euros you save in September, you pay back on 8 April.
There is not a single Steam review yet
This is where the Steam verdict normally goes, and today the box is empty. Revelation’s Steam page reads “No user reviews”. Zero. That is exactly what an unreleased game looks like, and it is still worth saying out loud, because preordering means paying before a single opinion exists.
The closest thing to a reference is the game before it. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sits at Mostly Positive on Steam, with 18,731 positive reviews out of 24,975.
Rebirth came out in January. Look where it is now
The precedent almost nobody publishes is what happened to the price of the previous two games on PC. Rebirth landed on PC in January, eight months ago. Steam still lists it at €49.99.

Read those with the warning from two sections up in mind. Today’s cheapest is Difmark at €14.00, an account again. The first key you redeem yourself is G2A’s Standard at €25.63, with more accounts sitting around it (G2A at €19.93, Kinguin at €27.11) and the Deluxe starting at €30.08 at Driffle.
Eight months after launch, a Rebirth copy that actually ends up in your account costs about half of what Steam asks. And Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the one that started all this, now has 29 live offers with the cheapest at €8.99.
So, preorder or wait?
If you want it on 8 April, the preorder to make is the Standard at €69.99, at Greenmangaming or on Steam. Same money either way, and either way the game is yours.
If you can wait, the trilogy has already answered the question for you. There is no price history for Revelation on our side yet, because the page is days old and nothing has moved on it.
