Sony closed its last State of Play with the announcement a good chunk of the internet had been waiting for since Rebirth ended: Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final part of the remake trilogy, has a date. The PC version arrives on 8 April.
Preorders opened the same night. So the useful question now is what it costs to lock it in today, and what you are giving up by doing it. There are four offers from three stores on our page to buy Final Fantasy VII Revelation key, and one of them needs reading twice before you pay.
Preorders open at €69.99, and there is a €99.99 version
Steam asks €69.99 for the Standard edition, which is the official announced price. Greenmangaming asks exactly the same, €69.99, and what it sells is a proper key you redeem yourself. Between those two there is nothing to choose on money.
Above them sits the Premium Edition, also at Greenmangaming, at €99.99. That is a €30 gap. We do not have the contents of that edition on file, so we are not going to tell you what is inside it. What we can tell you is how this usually ends: with Remake and with Rebirth, the extras bolted onto a big edition are the first thing to stop being worth the money, because the game itself gets cheaper and the bundle goes with it.

€49.99 buys a login, not a game
Sort by price and the first thing you see is Difmark at €49.99, twenty euros under Steam. It is not a key. The store’s own listing calls it a console account: you pay for access to an account somebody else created, with the game sitting inside it.
The game never lands in your library. It is not yours, it does not sit next to everything else you own, and the day the password changes you are done.
On a preorder that is worse than usual. People who preorder normally want to play on day one, on their own account, with their own saves and their own achievements. None of that happens when what you bought is somebody else’s front door key. The twenty euros you save today, you pay back on 8 April.
There is not a single Steam review yet
This is where we normally put the Steam verdict, and this time there is nothing to put. The Steam page for Revelation reads “No user reviews”. Zero. That is exactly what an unreleased game looks like, but it is worth saying out loud, because a preorder is the act of paying before a single opinion exists.
The closest thing to a reference is the previous game. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sits at Mostly Positive on Steam, with 18,731 positive reviews out of 24,975.
Rebirth came out in January. Look where it is now
Here is the part almost nobody publishes: what happened to the price of the previous two games on PC. Rebirth landed on PC in January, eight months ago. Steam still lists it at €49.99.

Treat those numbers with the warning from two sections up. Today’s cheapest is Difmark at €14.00 and it is an account again. The first key you redeem yourself is G2A at €25.63, Standard edition. Around it there are more accounts (G2A at €19.93, Kinguin at €27.11) and the Deluxe starts at €30.08 at Driffle.
Eight months after launch, a Rebirth copy that actually ends up in your account costs about half of what Steam asks for it. And Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the one that started all this, has 29 live offers with the cheapest at €8.99.
So, preorder or wait?
If you want it on 8 April, the only preorder that makes sense today is the Standard at €69.99, at Greenmangaming or on Steam. Same money either way, and either way the game ends up in your account.
If you can wait, the trilogy has already answered the question for you. We have no price history for Revelation yet, because the page is far too new for that, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Our page to buy Final Fantasy VII Revelation key will fill up as more stores come in.
