Square Enix puts Final Fantasy Resonance on sale on 22 October. Until that morning there is nothing to play and nothing to read about it, so the one part of a preorder you genuinely control is the amount you hand over. Our PC page already carries 19 live offers across 10 stores, and the distance between the cheapest and the dearest is wide enough to be worth a look before you commit.
Nobody has a verdict yet, and that includes us
Steam shows no user reviews for it, because the game has not shipped. There is no Metacritic score either. We would rather say that plainly than pad it out with adjectives: preordering means betting on the name and on the little that was shown at Gamescom this week, which amounted to a look at the world — the Zoldaad empire, the city of Mysidia — and a combat system called Vision. That is the whole of what is public. Anyone giving you more detail than that is filling in gaps.
You cannot research the quality of this game. You can research what it costs.
What each edition costs today
Preorder prices move, so read the figures below as the picture at the time of writing. The cheapest Standard on our page is € (with coupon GOCDKEYS10) at Eneba, and the cheapest Deluxe sits at € (with coupon GOCDKEYS10).

Greenmangaming and Humble Bundle both ask exactly what Steam asks for the Standard, 49,99 €. At the other end, the most expensive line on the page is a Deluxe at 60,75 € on G2A, and just under it there is a Steam Gift at 60,45 € on Kinguin — a gift transfer that costs more than several Deluxe offers.
The 39,99 € offer is not a copy of the game
Sort by price and the second entry on the whole page is 39,99 € at Difmark, listed as a Steam Account. That is not a code you redeem into your own library. It is access to an account that belongs to someone else with the game already sitting in it. You cannot merge it with the games you already own, you are not the account holder, and if the original owner recovers it you are left with nothing.
Fifty cents above that, at 39,49 €, CDKeys sells an ordinary redeemable Standard that lands on your own profile and stays there. Fifty cents is the entire gap between the two. It is the easiest mistake to avoid on this page today, and it is the reason we always name the format next to the number.
The Deluxe undercuts the official Standard
Here is the figure worth remembering. The cheapest Deluxe on our page is 48,39 € at CDKeys. The Standard on Steam, the official store, is 49,99 €. Compare properly and the bigger edition comes out 1,60 € cheaper than the smaller one bought at source. Anyone who was about to preorder the plain Standard on Steam is paying more and getting less.
Measured against the cheapest Standard instead, the step up to Deluxe is 8,90 €, from 39,49 € to 48,39 €. And that same redeemable Standard is 10,50 € below what Steam charges.
Check what the Deluxe includes before paying the difference
We are not going to list the contents of the Deluxe edition, because our page does not detail them and we have not seen a confirmed breakdown. Open the store listing and read what it actually promises before you spend the extra 8,90 €. A cosmetic pack and a few consumables is a very different purchase from a season of post-launch content, and nobody outside Square Enix can tell you which one this is.
Reserving a game with no reviews is a gamble and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If you are taking it anyway, take it on the cheap side: a redeemable Standard at 39,49 € or a Deluxe at 48,39 €, never a shared account. You can follow how the offers move between now and 22 October and buy Final Fantasy Resonance key at whichever store is cheapest that day.
