This game has become one of the standout releases on Steam in its own right, as the competition within the open-world survival genre is huge, with fierce competitors like Rust, Ark, or the recent success of Palworld, the latter almost coming out alongside Enshrouded itself.
Created by Keen Games, the same team behind Portal Knights, the survival game has managed to sell over two million copies in just a month, despite being in the shadow of the Palworld phenomenon. Now, its developers have wanted to share their future plans with everyone, and among these plans is the release date of the final version in 2025.
Exciting updates are coming
Several updates have also been mentioned for the remainder of this year, including an eagerly anticipated improvement to the weather system, with rain, snow, and storms. Additionally, new features are expected such as monsters, final bosses, complex dungeons, an expanded farming system, livestock, base customization, performance improvements, and compatibility with Steam Deck, among others.
As time progresses, more exciting features are promised, such as the ability to share and visit other players' bases, global events, additional ecosystems, and even the ability to build on water. Enshrouded has been praised for its solid gameplay, extensive building system, and appealing visuals, positioning it as one of the top survival titles of the year.
