Echo Weaver came out on 8 October on PC and Xbox Series X|S, and the same day it landed in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. So there are two ways to play it: as part of the subscription, or with a copy you buy. If you go for the second, the cheapest Steam Key this morning is at Allyouplay for €14.99 (no fees), a little over two euros less than on Steam.
A metroidvania where what you learn is what counts
Echo Weaver is built around a time loop. The world keeps resetting, and what you carry from one loop to the next is knowledge: clues, shortcuts, the order in which things have to happen. There is no skill tree to fill in. The comparison you will see everywhere is Outer Wilds' knowledge-driven exploration with the movement of Ori.
You play the last Weaver. Your weapon is the Glaive, an alien blade that bends reality, letting you skip obstacles and open shortcuts through a world that starts over every time. The game is developed by Moonlight Kids and published by Akupara Games.
Game Pass or a copy of your own
On Game Pass, you can play Echo Weaver for as long as you pay for the subscription and the game stays in the catalogue. A Steam or GOG copy stays in your library for good.
The type of game matters here. When the puzzles depend on what you know, a second run loses most of its surprise, because you already have the answers. If you are subscribed and expect to finish it within a month, Game Pass covers it. If you don't have the subscription, or you want the game in your library for later, buying it makes more sense.

Which version to buy on PC
Steam sells it for €17.09 (no fees), and Fanatical and Green Man Gaming charge exactly the same for their Steam Keys. Allyouplay is the one that undercuts them, at €14.99 (no fees). It is the same Steam Key you would get anywhere else, activated in your own account.
GOG asks €16.93 (no fees), 16 cents less than Steam. What you get there is the DRM-free version: you download the installer, keep it, and no client has to check your licence before you play. If that matters to you, the gap with Allyouplay is under two euros.
The lowest price on the page is from Difmark: €9.06 with coupon Gocdkeys (€9.47 with fees), but it is a Steam Account, not a key. You receive the login for an account someone else set up with the game on it, so it never joins your own Steam library. For a few euros more, we would take the key.
The free demo is the best way to decide
There is a free demo on PC and Xbox Series X|S, and a first run through it takes between 45 and 90 minutes. That is long enough to find out whether the loop structure clicks for you, which is really the whole question with this game. If it doesn't, you have saved yourself €15. If it does, you will know whether a subscription month is enough for you or whether you want it in your library.
Steam reviews: good, but still very few
Echo Weaver is rated "Positive" on Steam, with 38 of 40 reviews recommending it. It has only been on sale for a few days, though, and 40 reviews are not enough to call it a consensus.
