In Dokapon Kingdom, the richest player wins and you can rob anyone else at the table of their money and items. It's a good way to fall out with your friends, and a sequel is on the way: Idea Factory International and Compile Heart have announced Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2, developed by Sting, for next summer on Switch, Switch 2 and Steam, launching worldwide at the same time.
Until then, the first game is the one to play, and the gap between stores is huge. Steam asks €48.99 (no fees), Steam key; Instant Gaming sells the same Steam key for €8.89 (no fees). You can see more information on Dokapon Kingdom Connect prices as well.
What's new in Connect 2
It's still a board-game RPG for up to four players, online or on the same PC or console, with a solo mode too. The additions are co-op battles against Giga Monsters, where you share out the loot, a character creator with designs you can save, and a start option that gives you powerful gear. The Steam page is live but shows no price. The first public hands-on is at the Thailand Game Show, from 29 October to 1 November.
The language list leaves out most of Europe
The announced languages are English, Japanese, Thai, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese, with voices in English and Japanese. Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese aren't on it, so tell your friends before you set up the game night.
Where the first game is cheapest
Connect is the remaster of an original that's nearly twenty years old, and it's been on Steam since September three years ago. It scores 9/10 in our catalogue from 816 Steam reviews. We count 20 offers in 17 stores; these are the best, ordered by what you pay in the end:
- Instant Gaming: €8.89 (no fees), Steam key, Global.
- G2A: €9.65 with the coupon GCKG2AF1P6K (€9.94 with fees), Steam key, Global.
- Gamivo: €8.78 with the coupon GCDKGamivo (€10.08 with fees), Steam key, Global. It looks the cheapest until you reach the checkout.
Instant Gaming is the easy route, with no coupon to remember. All the stores are on the page to buy Dokapon Kingdom Connect key.
On Switch, the disc is your best option
We don't have a cheap way to play on Switch. The best price is the disc on Amazon Germany at €44.95 (no fees), five times the PC key, so go for PC if you can.
How low it has gone
Our history for the PC key, all without fees, starts at a launch price of €35.99 and has a median of €10.34. The low was €7.22 on 6 October, and the key has been cheaper than today on only 35 of 520 days. At €8.89 (no fees), Steam key, you're already below the usual price, so there's little to gain by waiting.
