Fanatical launched its autumn Build Your Own Legendary Bundle on 22 October, and one of the thirteen games you can pick is Crysis Remastered Trilogy for Steam. It's the biggest name on the list, so plenty of people will build their bundle around it. If Crysis is what you're after, check what it costs elsewhere first: the trilogy has rarely been this cheap as a standalone purchase.
How Fanatical's build-your-own bundle works
You choose the games, and the price per game drops the more you add:
- 2 games: €12.50 each (€25.00)
- 3 games: €12.00 each (€36.00)
- 4 or more: €11.50 each (€46.00 for four)
The minimum is two, so you can't take Crysis on its own. The offer runs until 25 November, and you also get a 5% voucher for your next Fanatical order.
The full list: Crime Scene Cleaner, Prodeus, Gloomwood, Crysis Remastered Trilogy, Labyrinth of the Demon King, ICBM: Escalation, Promise Mascot Agency, Escape Simulator 2, Cralon, Firefighting Simulator Ignite, Forever Skies Deluxe Edition, Death Howl: Deluxe Edition and ARMS OF GOD – Complete Edition.
What Crysis costs outside the bundle
The cheapest Steam Key for the trilogy right now is at K4G: €9.43 with the coupon GCDK14DEAL (€10.63 with fees). Next come Kinguin, at €9.87 with OCTGOC10 (€11.01 with fees), and Eneba, at €9.81 with Gocdkeys10 (€11.20 with fees). It usually sells for a lot more. The historical median is €23.30, and the lowest we've recorded is €8.79, on 23 October (both figures without fees). In 606 days of tracking it has only been cheaper on two of them. One thing to watch: the Difmark offer for the trilogy is an EA App Key, not Steam.
Buying the three remasters one at a time is cheaper still. All three are Steam Keys at HRKGame with the coupon Gocdkeys12:
| Game | Best key today | With fees |
|---|---|---|
| Crysis Remastered | €2.08 | €2.48 |
| Crysis 2 Remastered | €2.45 | €2.85 |
| Crysis 3 Remastered | €1.36 | €1.76 |
| Total | €5.89 | €7.09 |
None of the three has been cheaper at any point in our price history. On Steam, Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered are €29.99 each (no fees). Difmark has Crysis Remastered as a Steam Gift for €2.18 (€2.28 with fees), 20 cents less, but a gift is sent to your account by the seller instead of being a key you redeem yourself. We'd go with the key.
So against the bundle: the trilogy key costs less than a single slot at the cheapest tier (€11.50), the three games separately come to €7.09, and the cheapest bundle you can build is €25.00 because you have to take two games.
When the bundle still pays off
It depends on what else you want from the list. These are the games where we can put a Steam Key of the same edition next to the bundle price:
- Crime Scene Cleaner: €18.72 with OCTGOC10 at Kinguin (€20.56 with fees). The bundle wins easily.
- Promise Mascot Agency: €12.00 with Gocdkeys10 at Eneba (€13.58 with fees). The bundle saves you between €1.08 and €2.08, depending on the tier. Difmark sells it for €9.23 (€9.65 with fees), but that's a Steam account: you log into someone else's account that already owns the game, rather than getting a key for your own. Stick with the key.
- Prodeus: €2.84 with GCDK13 at Gameboost (€2.98 with fees). Not worth a slot.
- Gloomwood: €5.97 with GCKG2AM4E7H at G2A (€6.26 with fees). Same story.
Labyrinth of the Demon King, Escape Simulator 2, ICBM: Escalation and Firefighting Simulator Ignite only show up cheap as Steam accounts in our comparison, so we've left them out.
Two examples. If you want Crime Scene Cleaner and Crysis, the two-game bundle (€25.00) beats the Crime Scene Cleaner key plus the three Crysis games bought separately (€27.65). That's the one case where Crysis earns its place in the bundle, as the second game you need to reach the minimum. If you also want Promise Mascot Agency, change the plan: put Crime Scene Cleaner and Promise Mascot Agency in the bundle (€25.00) and buy Crysis outside it (€7.09). That's €32.09, against €36.00 for a three-game bundle.
The trilogy, or the three games one by one?
The trilogy is the same three remasters in a single purchase. Separately they cost €3.54 less today, and you can skip any you've already played. Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered both have "Very Positive" user reviews on Steam: 89% of 9,123 and 88% of 7,822 respectively.
If you want all three at once, you can buy Crysis Remastered Trilogy key. If you're only missing one, go straight to Crysis Remastered, Crysis 2 Remastered or Crysis 3 Remastered. And if you're holding out for the €8.79 it hit on 23 October, set a price alert for the trilogy.
Prices checked on the morning of 25 October.
