Night City is the obvious place to start, but the Xbox store has far more neon, rain and implants than that. To put this list together we took the games Steam tags as Cyberpunk, kept the ones that have an Xbox page on Gocdkeys with offers in stock this morning, and ended up with 14: thirteen games plus Phantom Liberty, the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. There's a long RPG, several shooters, a handful of detective games and two you can play with a cup of tea in hand.
About the scores: Xbox doesn't publish a public player rating we can use, so we quote the Steam rating of each game's PC version. For Ghostrunner, Ghostrunner 2, The Ascent, Observer: System Redux and Cloudpunk we don't have a Steam figure, so we give the average of critic reviews collected on OpenCritic instead and say so next to the number.
Account, European code or Microsoft Store: what each price gets you
Most games here have three prices, and they aren't the same product:
- Account: Key4Games, Difmark and other stores sell you the login for a Microsoft account that already owns the game. You add it to your console, set that console as its home Xbox and then play from your own profile. The game isn't in your name, and if the seller ever recovers the account, the game goes with it. Our guide to Xbox keys versus Xbox accounts explains it step by step.
- Xbox Key: a 25-character code you redeem on your own account, so the game is yours. Region matters. We quote European keys, which redeem without problems on a European account. You'll see US or Argentinian keys for less, but they make you change your account's region or use a VPN, and we don't recommend them.
- Microsoft Store: the official price, with no fees.
Accounts are always the cheapest, often by a lot. We give their price so you can see the gap, but when a key exists at a sensible price, that's what we'd buy.
Night City, Prague and Citadel Station: three big RPGs
Cyberpunk 2077 is the game most people think of first. You're V, a mercenary in Night City, in a huge open-world RPG full of implants, side jobs and missions that can run for hours. Steam players rate it Very Positive, 87% of 891,040 reviews. The cheapest European Xbox Key is at Gamivo, €13.12 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€14.57 with fees), against €59.99 (no fees) on the Microsoft Store. Key4Games sells an account for €3.90 with GOCDKEYS15 (€4.33 with fees), roughly ten euros less, but it's someone else's account; for a game this long, we'd want it in our own name. If you're unsure whether to get the expansion as well, we've covered that in which Cyberpunk 2077 edition to buy.
Phantom Liberty is the expansion: a spy thriller set in Dogtown, a new district, and only available on Xbox Series X|S. Steam: Very Positive, 89% of 22,494. Here the reseller saving is small. Gameseal has a European Xbox Key for €13.98 with SEAL17CKD (€15.72 with fees), and the Microsoft Store charges €17.99 (no fees), so we'd just buy it from Microsoft.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, from Eidos-Montréal, sends Adam Jensen, an augmented agent, to a Prague split between humans and the augmented. It's a stealth game at heart, with hacking and several ways through every mission. Mostly Positive, 77% of 30,797. It's the cheapest European key on this list: €3.25 with GCDKGamivo at Gamivo (€4.11 with fees), compared with €29.99 on the Microsoft Store.
System Shock is Nightdive's remake of the classic: you wake up on Citadel Station, where an AI called SHODAN has turned on the crew. Very Positive, 90% of 9,862. Gamivo sells a European Xbox Key for €8.92 with GCDKGamivo (€10.22 with fees), but the Microsoft Store only asks €11.99 (no fees), so the official store costs just €1.77 more. Key4Games has an account for €5.77 with GOCDKEYS15 (€6.28 with fees).
Katanas, a motorbike and a police officer who never takes cover
Ghostrunner by One More Level is first-person parkour with a katana, climbing the Dharma Tower. You die from a single hit and respawn instantly, so a tough section becomes a run of attempts that get faster each time. We don't have a Steam score for it; critics give it an average of 81 from 102 reviews on OpenCritic. The cheapest European Xbox Key is at Difmark, €6.48 with coupon Gocdkeys (€6.77 with fees), against €29.99 on the Microsoft Store. Key4Games has an account for €1.52 with GOCDKEYS15 (€1.84 with fees). These are the five best offers right now if you want to buy Ghostrunner key:
And this is what customers of those stores say about them on Trustpilot:
- Instant Gaming — 4.7 / 5 over 833,000+ reviews.
- Eneba — 4.4 / 5 over 312,000+ reviews.
- K4G — 4.3 / 5 over 17,000+ reviews.
- HRKGame — 4.2 / 5 over 29,000+ reviews.
- Difmark — 4.1 / 5 over 14,000+ reviews.
Ghostrunner 2 takes place a year later, outside the tower, and adds a motorbike to the running and slicing. Critics: 80 average from 109 reviews on OpenCritic, no Steam figure. Eneba has a European key for €5.89 with Gocdkeys10 (€6.94 with fees), practically the same as the first game, while the Microsoft Store wants €39.99.
RoboCop: Rogue City, by Teyon, is a first-person shooter in Detroit that understands its hero: RoboCop doesn't run and doesn't take cover. He walks forward and shoots, with some investigation between the gunfights. Peter Weller is back as the voice, in the English version. Very Positive, 85% of 28,667. The European Xbox Key costs €3.68 with GCDKGamivo at Gamivo (€4.56 with fees); Difmark has an account for €1.50 with Gocdkeys (€1.57 with fees). The Microsoft Store asks €39.99, so this is one of the biggest savings on the list.
The Ascent from Neon Giant is a top-down shooter with RPG systems and co-op for up to four players, set in a giant arcology. Critics: 75 from 105 reviews on OpenCritic. Here the European key is expensive: €23.03 with Gocdkeys10 at Eneba (€25.56 with fees), against €29.99 on the Microsoft Store. Difmark's account costs €1.55 with Gocdkeys (€1.62 with fees). If you want it in your name, the gap between the key and the official store is small enough to consider buying it from Microsoft.
Investigate, then decide: four games about clues and choices
Shadows of Doubt, by ColePowered, makes you a detective in a procedurally generated city where every building and every resident actually exists. You break into flats, check fingerprints and dig through records to find who did it. Very Positive, 82% of 14,719. Eneba has a European key for €9.75 with Gocdkeys10 (€11.13 with fees), and Key4Games an account for €7.22 with GOCDKEYS15 (€7.80 with fees). Microsoft Store: €24.99.
Observer: System Redux is psychological horror from Bloober Team. You play a detective, voiced by Rutger Hauer, who hacks into suspects' minds in a future Kraków. No Steam figure: 79 average from 62 critics on OpenCritic. Kinguin sells a European PC/Xbox key for €6.08 with OCTGOC10 (€6.91 with fees); the Microsoft Store asks €29.99.
Nobody Wants to Die from Critical Hit Games is a noir set in a New York where people move into new bodies so they never have to die. You investigate murders by rebuilding the crime scene. Very Positive, 82% of 5,936. Instant Gaming sells the Xbox Key for €7.59 (no fees); it's a global key rather than a European one. Key4Games has an account for €3.18 with GOCDKEYS15 (€3.57 with fees), and the Microsoft Store charges €24.99.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector by Jump Over the Age is a narrative RPG driven by dice rolls: you're a fugitive android with a ship and a crew you recruit along the way. Very Positive, 91% of 2,387, the second-best score on this list. Like The Ascent, the European key barely undercuts Microsoft: HRKGame sells a PC/Xbox key for €21.19 with Gocdkeys12 (€23.03 with fees), against €24.99 on the Microsoft Store. The Key4Games account costs €3.83 with GOCDKEYS15 (€4.25 with fees).
Cloudpunk and Stray, for a quieter evening
Cloudpunk by ION LANDS puts you in the seat of Rania, a delivery driver with a flying car, during one night of jobs in the city of Nivalis. You drive, listen to the people you meet and their stories, and never fight. No Steam figure: critics give it 71 from 51 reviews on OpenCritic. Kinguin has a European Xbox Key for €6.29 with OCTGOC10 (€7.14 with fees), Key4Games an account for €2.39 with GOCDKEYS15 (€2.75 with fees), and the Microsoft Store asks €24.99. If you'd rather wait for a lower price, set a price alert for Cloudpunk and we'll email you when it drops.
Stray, by BlueTwelve Studio, is the one to show anyone who doesn't usually play. You're a cat in a walled city of robots, travelling with a drone called B-12. It's short, about five or six hours, and suitable for all ages. It also has the highest Steam score here: Overwhelmingly Positive, 97% of 158,374. Kinguin sells a European PC/Xbox key for €12.14 with OCTGOC10 (€13.46 with fees), Difmark an account for €3.35 with Gocdkeys (€3.50 with fees), and the Microsoft Store charges €29.99.

Two columns are worth a closer look. For The Ascent and Citizen Sleeper 2, the European key costs nearly as much as the Microsoft Store, so the official store is the sensible place to buy them in your own name. And for Nobody Wants to Die, the key we quoted above is a global one from Instant Gaming, so the European column may show a different offer or none at all. Elsewhere, the gap between the key and the Microsoft Store runs from a couple of euros (System Shock, Phantom Liberty) to more than €35 (RoboCop: Rogue City).
If you only buy one cyberpunk game for Xbox
Make it Cyberpunk 2077: a European key costs €14.57 with fees, and add Phantom Liberty from the Microsoft Store later if you enjoy it. If you want something short, Stray takes a weekend and suits anyone in the house. For investigating, start with Shadows of Doubt if you like working things out yourself, or Nobody Wants to Die if you'd rather follow a story. And if you just want to buy something for under €5, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (€4.11 with fees) and RoboCop: Rogue City (€4.56 with fees) are both European keys and both good.
Play on a computer as well? We've done the same with the best cyberpunk games on PC.
