Mina the Hollower has been €16.39 (no fees) on Steam since 29 October, 20% off the €20.49 (no fees) it was selling for. That's the lowest price we've recorded there since June, and we'd take it. We don't know when the sale ends, and the free content Yacht Club Games has just talked about has no date, so holding out for it won't save you anything.
The Shovel Knight studio released Mina at the end of May on PC, Mac, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and it sold quickly: 300,000 copies in three days, 500,000 in its first 12. Sean Velasco said that gave the studio financial stability. On Steam, 87% of its 7,845 reviews are positive.
What Yacht Club says is coming
According to the studio, most of the team is moving on to an unannounced 3D game, and it won't confirm which franchise that game belongs to. Mina still has free content planned, with these ahead of any more story:
- game modifiers
- more randomiser options
- randomised enemies and bosses
- tools for speedrunners
None of that has a date. A physical edition is in the same position: Yacht Club says it's talking to partners, but there's no schedule.
Resellers only beat Steam by 70 cents
Coupon prices make the gap look bigger than it is, because the store's payment fee lands at checkout. These were the three cheapest Steam keys this morning:
- Gamivo: €14.20 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€15.69 with fees), Steam key
- G2A: €15.47 with coupon GCKG2AF1P6K (€15.76 with fees), Steam key
- Driffle: €15.21 with coupon GOCDKEYS10 (€16.16 with fees), Steam key
So the best deal saves you 70 cents against buying from Steam directly. Humble Bundle has a Steam key at €17.99 (no fees), which doesn't get close this week.
The full list of offers to buy Mina the Hollower key is on the game page.
What you get for under €5
You'll also spot Key4Games at €4.47 with coupon GOCDKEYS15 (€4.92 with fees). That's a Steam account, and a shared one: you're given access to an account that isn't yours and already has the game on it. Mina never reaches your own library, and you're relying on that account to keep working. We don't recommend it, and it's why we're comparing keys with keys here.
The cheapest thing on our Xbox page is the same sort of deal, a Key4Games Xbox account at €5.77 with coupon GOCDKEYS15 (€6.28 with fees).
Steam today, or a price alert?
If you want to play it, buy it on Steam while it's €16.39 (no fees), and it goes straight into your library. A key only makes sense if 70 cents is worth the extra step to you. And if you think it can go lower, set a price alert and we'll email you when it drops. The one thing we wouldn't wait for is the content update, since it's free whenever it turns up.
Prices checked on the morning of 1 November.
