Burglin' Gnomes is a chaotic co-op adventure game which sets the players to 'burgle' randomly generated houses by stealing random household items and performing tasks as requested by the High-Gnome. You and up to 5 friends break into houses and cause havoc as tiny gnomes, navigating environments where ordinary household furniture becomes towering obstacles and everyday objects transform into valuable loot and crafting materials.
The game heavily utilizes random generation to keep every round fresh, by making the environment unique and getting players random tasks every round. The game has scaling difficulty which increases each passing round, making the tasks harder and increasing the number of hostile enemies. The biggest problem you face is the old man, who is fast and will grab you in no time, taking you away to lock you up somewhere or just straight out murder your gnome. You can rescue friends from locked freezers or ovens, or head back to the mushroom where you start your run to resurrect them. But this takes a lot of time, which you could otherwise spend ticking off tasks in your checklist.
Some of the stuff you find is useful as is, however a certain amount of repurposing is often needed to fit the specific needs of gnomes. Craft equipment, build functional furniture, and upgrade your home with the burglin' haul. Stolen items can be repurposed into gear and used to upgrade your underground gnome base. The demo includes limited crafting, but the full game promises a deep progression loop built around your burgling haul.
