The question most people ask before their first purchase is not what Mistfall Hunter costs, but what they are walking into. It is an extraction game: you go in, you take what you can carry, and you only keep it if you get out. Here is what that means in practice, and what changes depending on the offer you pick.
What happens on your first run
You drop into a region of Weavereach, a world wrecked by a war between the Gods and the Outer Gods. Everything you find down there — gear, materials, whatever a dead hunter left behind — is only yours once you reach an extraction point. Die on the way out and it goes back into the world.
The fighting is melee and magic: a sword, a spellbook or a heavy war hammer, with combos built around each class's rhythm. It reads much closer to a Soulslike than to a shooter, so the first hour is mostly learning to read wind-ups rather than learning a map.
Classes, and why the choice matters before you drop in
You pick a class before each raid, not during it. Each one brings its own combat style, skill set and combo timing, so the decision sets your whole run: how close you have to get, how much punishment you can absorb, and whether you can disengage when a fight turns. Players who stick with one class long enough to learn its rhythm get much further than players who rotate every raid.
What do you actually receive with each offer?
| Offer type | What arrives | Where the game ends up |
|---|---|---|
| Standard code | A code you redeem yourself | Your account, permanently |
| Steam Gift | A gift sent by the seller | Your account, once accepted |
| Account access | Credentials for someone else's account | Not your account |
The bottom rows of any price list for this game are account access, and that is exactly the format you should think twice about here: this is an online game you will play with people on your own friends list, and progress you make on a borrowed profile is not progress you keep.
From payment to your first match
- Open Steam on the account you actually use.
- Menu Games → Activate a Product on Steam.
- Paste the whole code, hyphens included, and accept the agreement.
- Wait for it to appear in your library and start the download.
If the wizard says the code is not valid in your territory, you bought the wrong region. The label is on every offer, so it is worth two seconds before paying.
Alone or with a group?
Steam lists it with online PvP, PvP and online co-op, and no offline mode. Going in alone is allowed and plenty of players prefer it, but the region is still shared with rival hunters and nobody is coming to pick you up. Solo is the high-risk setting, not a separate campaign — worth knowing before you buy it expecting something you can pause.
Once you know which format you want, the only thing left is the price of the day: you can buy Mistfall Hunter key with every store side by side and the format label visible on each row.
