Killing Floor 3 is half off on Steam until 8 October at 10:00 PT (19:00 in Spain), when the Autumn Sale ends: €19.99 (no fees) instead of €39.99 (no fees). Key resellers go much lower. This morning the cheapest Steam Key is at Gamivo, €3.65 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€4.53 with fees), which is €15.46 less than Steam's sale price.
So the real question is whether it is worth holding out for an even lower figure. We went through our price history, and the short answer is: not really.
Where to get it cheapest this morning
Gamivo's offer is a global Steam Key. You redeem it on your own Steam account and the game sits in your library with its achievements, exactly as if you had bought it there. Gameseal is next at €3.96 with coupon SEAL17CKD (€4.66 with fees), also a Steam Key, but for European accounts. Thirteen cents between them.
Two practical points. Coupons only work if you type the code in the store's basket. And the fees depend on how you pay: the with-fees figures in this article are for card payments.
Why we would skip the Difmark Steam Account
The cheapest thing on offer today is Difmark at €3.60 with coupon Gocdkeys (€3.76 with fees), but it is a Steam Account. You do not get a code for your account. You get the login of someone else's Steam account that owns the game, and you can play only until the password changes. Nothing ends up on your profile.
The gap to the Gamivo key is 77 cents. Not worth the risk: buy the key.
What our price history says
History figures are store prices without fees or coupons. The median for a Killing Floor 3 key in our records is €10.69, and the lowest we have logged is €4.30, on 26 September. Today the cheapest key before coupons is €4.62 (no fees, no coupon), 32 cents above that low.
The fall was fast and it has stalled. Across all formats, the monthly low went from €8.00 in April to €6.69 in May and June, €4.42 in August and €4.29 in September, and October is sitting at the same €4.29. Through September the cheapest copy of the day almost always stayed between €4.29 and €4.99.
Worth knowing if you are on the fence: keys were already this cheap before the Steam sale started on 1 October. Nothing in our data suggests resellers will push their prices up when Steam goes back to €39.99 (no fees).
You may also have read that the Humble Store was selling Steam Keys for next to nothing. We could not confirm it. In the Humble data we receive, the game is still €39.99 (no fees) this morning.
Deluxe or Elite Nightfall: what the extra money buys
According to the Steam page, the Deluxe Edition adds the Shadow Agent specialist and weapon skin sets, a Nightfall Supply Pass and 1,000 Creds. The Elite Nightfall Edition has the same skins, access to four Premium Nightfall Supply Passes for the first year and 3,000 Creds. No new maps or modes in either list.
| Edition | Steam (until 8 October) | Cheapest Steam Key today |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | €19.99 (no fees) | €3.65 with coupon GCDKGamivo (€4.53 with fees), Gamivo |
| Deluxe | €29.99 (no fees) | €15.73 with coupon GCKG2AW4Z8R (€16.02 with fees), G2A |
| Elite Nightfall | €39.99 (no fees) | €20.72 with coupon GOCDKEYS10 (€21.87 with fees), Driffle |
Both edition keys are for European accounts. Going from Standard to Deluxe costs €11.49 more with fees, and to Elite €17.34 more. If you are new to the game, that is a lot for cosmetics and passes. Start with the Standard. If you already know you will sink hours into it, the Deluxe at €16.02 with fees is about half what Steam charges.
How Steam players rate it
Even at €4.53 this matters. Steam reviews sit at Mixed, with 46% of 16,581 positive, and recent ones are worse: only 40% of the 189 reviews from the last 30 days are positive, according to the store page.
Tripwire's shooter pits up to six players against waves of zeds, and you can also play it solo. The Steam page lists kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat and an SSD as a requirement, so check both before buying. At under five euros the gamble is small. At twenty, with those reviews, we would think twice.
So, buy now or wait?
If you want it, buy it now. The key has been hovering around its low for weeks, and waiting would save you cents at best. What makes no sense is paying €19.99 on Steam for the same Standard Edition that costs €4.53 with fees elsewhere.
If you want to hold out for a key under €4, set a price alert and we will let you know when it drops. Every store, fees included, is on the page to buy Killing Floor 3 key.
