Ubisoft has put Far Cry 6 into the sale it is running for its 40th anniversary, the one being advertised elsewhere with an «up to -92%» banner. The percentage is not the interesting part. The interesting part is that Greenmangaming has all three PC editions on sale at the same time, and the whole ladder from the cheapest to the dearest is €3.60.

Every price below was taken on 17 September at 05:45 UTC. They change daily, so open the page before you pay.

Three PC editions, €3.60 from bottom to top

Same shop for all three, all of them Uplay Key, none of them charging a payment fee:

  • Standard: €5.40, no fees, Uplay Key.
  • Deluxe Ed.: €7.20, no fees, Uplay Key.
  • Gold Ed.: €9.00, no fees, Uplay Key.

€1.80 buys the step up to Deluxe, another €1.80 the step up to Gold. Steam, for reference, still asks €59.99 for the base game, no fees.

Gold or Standard? Let the Season Pass decide

We are not going to tell you what each edition contains, because we do not have that confirmed and a made-up detail is worth less than a missing one. The price side we can do, and it leans hard one way.

Far Cry 6 has a Season Pass sold as a product of its own, with 18 offers on its page starting at €8.75, and an expansion, Lost Between Worlds, also sold separately, another 18 offers from €4.50. Both of those are the entry prices of those pages, before coupons.

Now the arithmetic. Standard to Gold costs €3.60. The Season Pass on its own costs €8.75 at best. Buy the Standard today and add the pass later and you are past €14, while the Gold Ed. sits at €9.00. If the extra content means anything to you, take the Gold. If you only want the campaign, €5.40 is a perfectly good place to stop.

What the other PC shops are charging

There are 84 live offers on the PC page, and the Greenmangaming Standard does not win by a nose. The next names down:

  • K4G: €8.22 with the coupon GCDK14DEAL (€9.32 with fees), Standard.
  • Driffle: €8.69 with the coupon GOCDKEYS10 (€9.40 with fees), Uplay Key.
  • Instant Gaming: €9.49, no fees, Uplay Key.

Read the second figure in each line, never the first. K4G advertises 47 cents below Driffle, and once both payment fees land that lead shrinks to 8 cents: €9.32 against €9.40. K4G charges €1.10 to take your money and Driffle €0.71, so almost all of K4G's advantage goes on the fee. Either way you are paying about what the Gold Ed. costs at Greenmangaming.

The €5.39 listing is a shared account

G2A shows Far Cry 6 at €5.39 with the coupon GCKG2AH9K2L (€5.68 with fees), and the format matters: Steam Account. You log into somebody else’s account to play, the game never enters your library, and the owner can pull your access whenever they feel like it. One cent under the Standard before fees, 28 cents over it after. You would be paying more for a copy that is not yours.

€5.40 is around 54% under the usual price

Straight from our own records for the PC page, all of it before fees and before coupons: 3,549 measurements spread across 1,337 separate days. The median of that series is €11.85, so today’s €5.40 is roughly 54% below what this game normally costs.

Month by month it has been drifting down. The lowest this month is the €5.40 you see now, August bottomed out at €7.40, July at €8.07. Go back a little further, though, and both June and May touched €4.99. Today is a very good price. It is not the floor, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. If those forty-odd cents matter to you, set a price alert and let it do the waiting.

Xbox, PS5 and PS4 are a different market

Xbox has 57 live offers. The cheapest of all is Difmark at €3.52 with the coupon Gocdkeys (€3.68 with fees), an Account, with the same catch as above. Among the genuine codes, Gaming Dragons shows €8.18 (€8.92 with fees), Xbox key, and the official Microsoft Store ES asks €12.33, no fees, Xbox key. Our Xbox median, without fees or coupons, is €17.95.

PS5 is thin: five offers, and everything affordable on it is an account. Difmark at €5.21 with Gocdkeys (€5.44 with fees), Account, and Kinguin at €9.15 with SEPGOC10 (€10.23 with fees), Account. The alternative is a disc from PCcomponentes at €48.98, no fees, Standard. Median there: €20.11. PS4 is down to three offers, Difmark at €5.87 with Gocdkeys (€6.13 with fees), Account, or the physical Standard at PCcomponentes for €45.39, no fees.

So which one do you buy?

A reminder of what is on the table: a first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft, out for a few years now, rated Mostly Positive on Steam with 23,629 positive reviews against 9,651 negative ones.

On PC, the Standard at €5.40 is the cheapest genuine code on the entire page, and the Gold Ed. at €9.00 is the one to pick if the Season Pass content interests you at all. Choose between those two and buy Far Cry 6 key from the shop. On console, hold off: the cheapest real Xbox code still costs more than the PC Gold Ed., and on PlayStation everything within reach is a shared account.
