Almost every refund request on a football game comes down to the same thing, and it has nothing to do with price. Someone buys what looks like a PC copy, opens the wrong launcher, and the code will not go in. The code is fine. It was issued for a different licence with a very similar name. Since the PC prices for EA Sports FC 27 mix all three together, it pays to be able to tell them apart before you hand over any money.
Three PC licences, and none of them convert
EA sells this on its own launcher, on Steam and on the Epic store. For activation purposes those are three different products. A key issued for one will not redeem on another, however identical the game looks once installed. There is no conversion tool and no support ticket that undoes it — and the refund, if you get one, takes longer than reading the label would have.

Console codes redeem in seconds and care a lot about your country
The PS5 version and the Xbox version both hand over a code bound to a particular store country. Get that wrong and nothing happens at checkout. The failure comes later, at the redeem screen, once the money has already gone. Worth knowing while you shop around: both consoles carry the upgrade path from the previous generation, so a copy bought for the older machine is not a dead end.
