AllKeyShop reported on Thursday the 27th of August that Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is going into the free games rotation of the Amazon Luna catalogue, together with Havendock. That is their reporting, not ours. We follow what shops charge, not subscription catalogues, so we have not checked it ourselves and we have no end date for the promotion either. Nobody should plan around a date we do not have.
The question underneath the news is one we can answer with our own numbers. ACE Team came out of Chile with a hand-drawn brawler set in the same world as Zeno Clash, it launched in March three years ago, and it has been very cheap for a long while now.
What a Luna subscription gives you, and what it takes back
Luna is streaming on a monthly fee. While the fee is paid the game sits in your library. The month you stop paying, it does not. Nothing is downloaded, nothing survives the cancellation, and if the title rotates out of the catalogue your access goes with it. For a melee game you intend to finish across two weekends that can be perfectly sensible. It is still rent.
What the PC version costs right now
Our page has 27 live offers spread across 13 shops. The cheapest is € (with coupon GOCDKEYS10) at Eneba, Standard edition, delivered as a Steam key that you redeem yourself on your own account. Behind it come 1.57 € at Kinguin, 1.85 € at Eneba again, 1.94 € at K4G, 1.97 € at Driffle and 1.99 € at Kinguin, all of them Standard keys.
The comparison that says the most is with the official shop. Steam asks 2.99 € for that same Standard edition, more than double what the cheapest reseller wants for a key you activate the same way. Months of sitting around two euros
We hold 1,665 price measurements on this game, going back to January three years ago. The lowest figure our tracking caught in the cheapest shop reads 2.02 € in May, 2.03 € in June, 0.93 € in July and 0.68 € in August. Those are historic lows, not offers you can buy today. The average across every live offer has drifted down too: 10.27 € in May, 9.10 € in June, 8.52 € in July, 8.78 € in August.
The floor has been in the same place for months. Waiting for a much deeper discount on something that already costs less than a coffee is a poor use of your attention, and our own history is the reason we can say that with a straight face.
The Special Edition asks 1.12 € more, and you should check why
The cheapest Special Edition is 2.50 € at Driffle, then 2.64 € and 2.65 € at Eneba, and from there it jumps to 8.46 € at YUPLAY. So the Special sits 1.12 € above the cheapest Standard, which is loose change. The catch is that our page does not spell out what that edition actually adds, so read the shop description before you pay the difference rather than after.
There are also two Steam Gift offers at 4.80 € at G2A, both at the same figure. A gift is transferred to your account rather than activated with a code you own, which is a different transaction from a key. Worth knowing before you click.
On PlayStation the answer changes completely
PS5 has two offers and no more. The cheaper one is 15.99 € at Difmark and it is an Account, meaning you pay for access to somebody else’s account that has the game on it, not for a copy of your own. The other is 19.99 € at the PlayStation Store, a PSN key, which is the real purchase.
PS4 is worse. There is a single offer, 29.99 € at Difmark, and it is an Account too. Said plainly: on PS4 today there is no redeemable copy on our page at all. We always point at the key, and when there is no key we say so instead of dressing up a shared account as a bargain.
Steam reviews sit at Very Positive, 1,154 positive out of 1,282. If the Luna rotation is what puts the game in front of you, take it. But if you are weighing up a monthly fee against 1.38 € for a Steam key that stays yours, the maths barely needs doing.
