On 3 November PlayStation announced an exclusive event in December at the cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse, where Until Dawn 2 will get a gameplay presentation and its cast will be on stage. It all happens before the game comes out on PS5, although there is still no release date: on our side the page lists it as undated.
The eight survivors of Dead True
The same day, the eight playable characters were revealed. They form a group called «Dead True», and their secrets and the friction between them will decide who makes it to the end. That's the heart of the first game too, where any of the cast could die depending on your choices. Beyond that, little is known: no gameplay has been shown yet, which is exactly what the December event is for.
What the pre-order costs today
The PS5 PSN Key at the PlayStation Store is €49.99 (no fees). It's the lowest price we've seen since we started tracking it on 12 September, and in fact it hasn't moved a cent since then. There are four PS5 offers in total, and the ones below update live.
The other three are accounts. The cheapest is at Kinguin: €36.99 with coupon NOVGOC10 (€40.28 with fees). With an account you get access to someone else's PSN account with the game on it, so it never sits under your own name. For a game you'll want to keep, we'd go for the key.
Pre-order now or wait for December?
We'd wait. With no release date, a pre-order today means money tied up for months in a game nobody outside the studio has seen in action. And since the key price has been flat since September, holding off until the event doesn't cost you anything either. Watch the gameplay, and if it convinces you, the Until Dawn 2 PSN key will most likely still be at that price. If you want a heads-up when anything changes, set a price alert.
Playing the first one in the meantime
The Until Dawn remake came out two years ago on PS5 and PC. On PS5 the PSN Key costs €69.99 (no fees) at the PlayStation Store; there's a Key4Games account for €3.83 with coupon GOCDKEYS16 (€4.23 with fees), with the same drawback as above: it isn't yours.
On PC it's much cheaper as a key: G2A has the Steam Key at €25.77 with coupon GCKG2AP3R9D (€26.06 with fees), against €69.99 (no fees) on Steam. That's about its usual price (historical median €25.29, no fees). There's also a Steam Account at Key4Games for €11.73 with coupon GOCDKEYS16 (€12.43 with fees), but that's someone else's account, same as on PS5. Steam players rate it Very Positive: 83% of 3,688 reviews.
