Dotemu is running a publisher sale on Steam, and NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound is half price until 18 November: €12.49 instead of €24.99. Absolum and other games from the Dotemu catalogue are in the same promotion.
A quick reminder of what Ragebound is
It's a 2D action game from The Game Kitchen, the team behind Blasphemous, published by Dotemu and Koei Tecmo. It came out last summer, in July. You play as Kenji Mozu, Ryu Hayabusa's disciple, who has to protect the Hayabusa village while Ryu is away in the United States, and you also control Kumori, an assassin from the Black Spider Clan. You switch between the two, and the whole thing is drawn in pixel art with an 8-bit feel.
Steam users rate it Very Positive: 2,319 of 2,548 reviews are positive, about 91%.
Where it's cheapest this morning
For once, the official store is the cheapest place for a key. Steam sells it at €12.49 (no fees), and Humble Bundle matches that with a Steam Key at €12.49 (no fees). The key resellers haven't followed: Instant Gaming is at €20.59 (no fees), Kinguin at €19.82 (€21.59 with fees) and Eneba at €23.35 (€25.70 with fees), all Steam Keys.
There are two cheaper routes, both in other formats. Kinguin has a Steam Gift at €11.11 (€12.26 with fees), which saves you 23 cents. And Key4Games sells a Steam Account at €5.70 with coupon GOCDKEYS15 (€6.21 with fees). An account means you get the login to someone else's Steam account with the game on it, so the game never ends up in your own library. We'd go with the key.
Is this a good moment, according to our history?
Yes, though it isn't a record. The historical median for the key is €13.39 (no fees, like all historical figures here), so €12.49 is about 7% below the usual price. Over the 307 days we've tracked, the key was cheaper than today on 106 of them.
Our data shows a low of €8.46 (no fees) on 5 November at Kinguin. That figure matches a Kinguin Steam Account which is still listed at the same price, while Kinguin's Steam Key is at €19.82. Most likely that low wasn't a key, so don't wait for it to come back.
Our take
If Ragebound is on your list, buying on Steam before the 18th makes sense: you get the full price cut, no fees, straight into your library. If you'd rather hold on for a few more euros off, set a price alert and we'll email you when the key drops. All PC offers are on the page to buy NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound key, and the comparison also covers the Xbox, PS5 and Switch versions.
