Sanctum: Map Pack 2 expands the original Sanctum with three new multiplayer-focused maps set within the sci-fi world of Elysion One. The Chasm presents an abandoned mining hub where infrastructure lies dormant, Corporation features a private defense contractor's installations, and Invasion takes place at a military research facility producing robotic defenders against alien threats. These environments introduce novel maze layouts and tactical challenges that reward both careful tower placement and aggressive first-person combat.

The core gameplay loop remains unchanged: players alternate between a building phase where they construct defensive towers and walls, and an extermination phase where they engage waves of alien creatures from a first-person perspective. Map Pack 2's new environments demand fresh strategic approaches, forcing players to adapt their tower loadouts and positioning to unfamiliar terrain and chokepoints.

Sanctum's hybrid design merges tower-defense systems with FPS mechanics, creating a distinct experience where players must balance macro-level base defense with micro-level combat reflexes. The game supports both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, allowing teams to coordinate defenses or compete in survival scenarios. Each map introduces environmental storytelling that contextualizes the alien invasion within the broader narrative of humanity's colonial expansion.

This DLC targets players seeking additional content for the original Sanctum who value replayability through new map layouts. The pack complements the base game's existing tower and weapon roster without requiring additional purchases, making it an accessible expansion for established players. Cooperative play particularly benefits from the new environments, as team coordination becomes essential on unfamiliar terrain.
