Dream of the Beast is the first major expansion for Metal: Hellsinger, the rhythm-driven first-person shooter that fuses fast-paced demon slaying with heavy metal music. This DLC extends the game's core loop—shooting, dashing, and performing takedowns in perfect synchronization with the beat—by introducing two new high-intensity songs and expanded weapon variety.

The expansion features two original tracks performed by acclaimed metal vocalists: "Dream of the Beast" by Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil and "Leviathan" by Will Ramos of Lorna Shore. Both songs operate at elevated tempos (138 and 143 BPM respectively), demanding tighter rhythm precision and faster reflexes than the base game's existing tracks. The new Song Selector feature, introduced alongside the DLC, allows players to choose which track to play on any level, creating fresh strategic and stylistic combinations across all campaign stages.

Combat mechanics are enhanced through the Red Right Hand, a multi-barrel machine gun that fires in variable burst patterns, introducing new tactical considerations for rhythm-based combat. Three new outfits provide distinct gameplay modifiers: Dark Devotee grants a shield when picking up fury boosts, Morning Star offers healing capabilities, and Angel Eyes increases magazine capacity through quick reloads. These cosmetic options directly impact playstyle and progression strategy.

Dream of the Beast is accessible from any point in the campaign, allowing both new players and veterans to experience the content immediately. The expansion maintains the series' signature blend of precision shooting mechanics and soundtrack-driven gameplay, targeting players who appreciate the intersection of rhythm games and action shooters, particularly those with affinity for metal music and challenging, skill-based combat systems.
