Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel continues the story of Angela Balzac and her partner Dingo following the events of the 2014 anime film. Set in a far-future Earth devastated by the Nano Hazard, where most of humanity has abandoned their physical bodies to live as digital entities in the virtual world of DEVA, the game finds Angela having chosen to remain on the ravaged surface. When a mysterious new lifeform called Paraflora begins spreading across the land alongside colossal worms, a new case draws Angela back into danger in the desert town of Svarga.

As a full-scale visual novel, The Stellar Angel emphasizes narrative-driven gameplay centered on meaningful player choice. The K2-System forms the core mechanic, presenting decisions that reflect two dimensions of Angela's character: KIZUNA, representing her compassion and bonds with others, and KAKUGO, reflecting her resolve to complete her mission. These choices shape Angela's emotional journey, influence her relationships with other characters, and determine which of the game's multiple endings players will experience.

The game features full voice acting across all major scenes, creating a cinematic presentation that complements its science-fiction narrative. A TIPS system allows players to deepen their understanding of the game's complex world-building and terminology. Standard visual novel conveniences—text skip, backlog, and autosave—ensure accessibility for both genre veterans and newcomers.

The Stellar Angel targets fans of character-driven sci-fi narratives and players who value choice-based storytelling. Its philosophical themes exploring humanity, artificial intelligence, and the nature of consciousness will appeal to those who appreciated the original film's thematic depth. The game's branching narrative structure, including paths with no return, encourages multiple playthroughs to uncover the full scope of Angela's story.
