Dordogne is a narrative adventure that explores memory and family through two interconnected timelines. You play as Mimi, a 32-year-old woman returning to her grandmother's house after her death, while also experiencing flashbacks to your childhood summers spent in the French countryside. The game alternates between the present, where you explore the rooms of the family home, and the past, where you guide a younger Mimi through outdoor adventures and family moments.

Gameplay centers on gentle exploration and light puzzle-solving woven into a story-driven experience. You collect photographs, sounds, objects, and words scattered throughout the environments, which populate Mimi's personal journal—a unique record shaped by your choices and observations. The puzzles are straightforward and never intrusive, designed to complement rather than challenge, making the focus remain on narrative and atmosphere.

The game's defining characteristic is its hand-painted watercolor art style, which renders the Dordogne region in soft, impressionistic hues. This visual approach creates a nostalgic, dreamlike quality that reinforces the themes of memory and reflection. The soundtrack and sound design emphasize sensory immersion, inviting you to recall not just images but the feelings and textures of summer childhood.

Dordogne appeals to players seeking introspective, character-driven experiences over action or complex mechanics. It's ideal for those who value artistic presentation, emotional storytelling, and the meditative pace of exploration. The game respects player agency in how memories are collected and interpreted, making each playthrough feel personal. This is a title for audiences who appreciate indie narratives that prioritize mood and meaning over conventional gameplay systems.
