Dirtnap is a 1-10 player multiplayer arena shooter where the entire battlefield is your weapon. Every pixel of terrain is fully destructible and physically simulated in real time—dig tunnels for surprise attacks, collapse enemy cover, and reshape the map with water, mud, lava, and fire. The game uses per-pixel matter simulation to handle up to ten simultaneous players editing the terrain from different corners of the map, a technical achievement that previous destructible-terrain games declined to attempt.

Matches combine fast-paced combat with dynamic environmental hazards. Dig with one hand, aim and shoot with the other, and use a jetpack to navigate the constantly shifting landscape. The core gameplay loop revolves around terrain manipulation as a core mechanic rather than an afterthought—every tunnel you carve, every crater you blast, and every firing line you open changes the strategic landscape for all players. Water from broken pools floods lower ground and drowns careless opponents. Lava rising in Battle Royale mode interacts with materials you've already dug, potentially sealing escape routes with cooled stone.

Dirtnap ships with seven playable characters called Dirtlings, each with unique stats, a character-specific melee weapon, and a special ability tied directly to the game's physics system. The character roster is designed around terrain interaction rather than traditional combat roles. Multiple game modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Battle Royale, Capture the Flag, and a four-round Tournament with catch-up points that keeps the leader vulnerable to comebacks.

Play online through Steam, over LAN, or in local split-screen. Fill empty slots with bots to learn maps solo or help small groups start full matches. The game draws inspiration from classic destructible-terrain titles like Liero, Soldat, Molez, and Worms, but executes the concept in real-time competitive multiplayer with full fluid simulation across all players' actions.

Dirtnap launches in Steam Early Access with the core gameplay fully playable. The development team—a small Finland-based indie collective from Unstable Entity, Part Time Monkey, and Nitroyale—plans to add more characters, weapons, maps, themes, and game modes based on community feedback, with a full launch targeted for Q1 2027.
