A masochist beat-'em-up with vivid cartridge colors of Castle Crashers bridges cartoon violence with a sort of RPG-lite progression. As a wave-based invasion of enemies in a four-player co-op situation has knights level-up and purchase absurd weaponry (lobster claws, anyone?), it is hard to believe how little of this is included. The hand-drawn humor (pooping-deer and snarky bosses) with brutally fun fighting kept it interesting, while the crazy animal eyeballs (read: bipolar giraffe) added dash unpredictably. A mod-con for chaos in couch co-ops.
