Big Dig is a short incremental narrative game set in the whimsical Animal Republic, where you take on the role of an artifact hunter supporting Mayor Dog's ambitious election campaign. The central premise revolves around excavating historical relics that stand in the way of a grand highway project spanning the entire nation. As you dig, you'll uncover artifacts, expand your museum collection, and upgrade your tools to tackle increasingly challenging excavation sites across diverse environments—from beaches and suburbs to lakes and schools. The gameplay loop combines idle mechanics with active progression, rewarding both passive accumulation and strategic tool upgrades. Your museum serves as both a display of your discoveries and a hub for managing your expanding artifact collection. The game differentiates itself through its narrative-driven approach to the incremental genre, weaving a charming story around Mayor Dog's political ambitions rather than relying solely on numbers and progression bars. With its casual, relaxing tone and family-friendly aesthetic, Big Dig appeals to players seeking a low-pressure experience that blends light strategy with gentle humor and whimsical world-building.
