AirportSim: Bologna Airport brings authentic airport operations to Italy's Guglielmo Marconi Airport, a major international hub serving the Emilia-Romagna region. This DLC expansion for AirportSim places you in the role of airport ground handler, managing the intricate choreography of aircraft turnarounds, ground services, and airfield operations at a real-world facility.

The gameplay loop centers on completing assigned tasks across multiple modes: Scenario mode presents structured flight schedules with predefined weather and sequential objectives; Challenge mode tests your efficiency and decision-making against competitive leaderboards; and Free Play offers unrestricted sandbox operations with randomized tasks. Each aircraft interaction involves authentic procedures—marshalling, GPU connections, fueling, catering, luggage handling, and jetway operations—with realistic sound design and visual feedback.

Bologna Airport distinguishes itself through a unique Follow-Me sports car vehicle, a specialized ground support asset not found in other AirportSim locations. The DLC includes three new challenge scenarios and three new campaign missions, alongside detailed, authentic reproductions of the airport's terminals, aprons, and surrounding infrastructure. The expansion maintains the series' commitment to operational complexity, requiring players to manage multiple simultaneous aircraft operations while accounting for real-time weather conditions and dynamic ground procedures.

The title appeals to simulation enthusiasts seeking deep, systems-driven gameplay rather than action-oriented experiences. Players appreciate the attention to authentic airport procedures, licensed aircraft and ground equipment, and the cooperative multiplayer option for shared airport management. Whether approaching scenarios methodically or competing for high scores in challenges, the DLC rewards planning, multitasking, and knowledge of real-world airport operations.
