Against the Storm: Keepers of the Stone is an expansion that expands and enriches the challenging universe of the original game with new mechanics, scenarios, and a playable species that brings a fresh twist both strategically and aesthetically. In this installment, the fight against the relentless Blightstorm continues, but now players will have the help of the Frogs, a proud species adept at manipulating stone and deeply connected to water and rain.

This new species not only integrates into the colony dynamics but also introduces unique demands: they refuse to inhabit generic shelters, instead demanding customized dwellings, Frog Houses, which can be upgraded up to four levels, each providing key functional advantages in times of crisis. Furthermore, their presence accelerates the arrival of new settlers, which can radically change the growth rate of your settlements.

Along with the Frogs, two new biomes arrive, packed with unique challenges and rewards. On one hand, there are the Coastal Forests, remote areas bathed by the sea that are opening up after centuries of isolation. Here, you won't have the usual support of royal envoys and must rely on the Corridor's Harbor, a special building that allows you to launch expeditions to find sunken treasure. This building introduces a new mechanic: investing food to increase the chances of finding valuable building designs.

On the other hand, the Ashen Thicket presents a landscape devastated by the passage of time and industry. It is a barren and silent territory, home to Lightning Shards, crystals with latent energy that serve as the basis for creating Keystones through the Keystone Forge, a facility unique to the biome. These stones offer significant advantages, but crafting them entails difficult decisions, as penalties can be accepted in exchange for richer rewards.

With new orders, bonuses, improvements to the Smoking City, and a completely revamped soundtrack to accompany each new landscape, this expansion takes the Against the Storm experience to a new level of depth and complexity. The balance between growth, adaptation, and risk becomes even more refined, and survival is more challenging than ever.
