Hard West 2 is no longer a PC exclusive. Klabater and Good Shepherd Entertainment are releasing Ice Code Games' turn-based tactics game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on Tuesday, November 10.
The publishers haven't announced a console price yet. We also don't know which editions there will be or whether any DLC is included, so if you're on PS5 or Xbox, that part of the story is still open.
Outlaws, the occult and a ghost train
You run a gang of outlaws in a supernatural Wild West, and the job that holds the campaign together is a ghost train the crew wants to hit. Fights are turn-based, but the game pushes you away from the usual slow advance from one piece of cover to the next.
That's down to Bravado. Whenever a character kills an enemy, all of their action points come straight back, so one gunslinger can keep going and pick off several targets in the same turn. Playing aggressively pays. The system has been there since the PC release; consoles get the same game.
How it was received on PC
Steam reviews are "Very Positive": 2,219 of 2,740 are positive, or 81%. On Metacritic it sits at 77.
Today's PC prices
We're tracking 34 PC offers in stock across 18 stores. The cheapest Steam Key is at Difmark Digital Keys: €0.91 with the Gocdkeys coupon (€0.95 with fees). Steam itself charges €28.99 (no fees).
Enter Gocdkeys at Difmark's checkout to get that price.
Will it drop any further?
Unlikely. Kinguin and Eneba have had it between €0.44 and €0.60 (store prices, no fees or coupon) every single month since July, and Kinguin is at €0.59 (no fees) this November. In spring it didn't go below €3.67 (no fees). A sub-euro Hard West 2 has been the normal price since the summer, so there's no point holding out for a flash sale.
PC or console: which one to pick
If you game on PC, it's an easy call: you get the same game the consoles are about to receive, for under a euro. You can buy Hard West 2 key from any of the stores we compare.
If your only machine is a PS5 or an Xbox, there's nothing to compare yet. Once the console version shows up in stores with a price, we'll look at what it costs.
Prices checked on the morning of November 7.
