Pit of Goblin left early access on Tuesday 3 November with its 1.0 release. It's out on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it's also part of Xbox Game Pass's November batch, on Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.

A co-op extraction game where you play the goblin

It comes from Friendly Foe, a Swedish studio that both develops and publishes it. You and your friends are expendable goblins sent down into crypts, haunted ruins and trap-filled caverns to scavenge food and valuables for the Goblin King-Queen. Whatever you drag back out gets traded for currency, which buys weapons, gear and consumables for the next trip down. The tone is horror played for laughs: friendly fire is on, proximity voice chat is on, and plenty of runs fall apart because someone panics in the dark.

Steam players have been kind to it so far. Reviews sit at Very Positive, with 809 of 963 positive, roughly 84%.

What changes with 1.0

  • Co-op now takes 4 to 6 players.
  • Full crossplay between PC, PS5 and Xbox.
  • Two new biomes: The Undergrowth and The Great Library.
  • Spell books and schools of magic.
  • A journal that logs what you discover and how far you've got.
  • Reworked customisation, with four accessory slots.

If you already owned it during early access, you get some cosmetic rewards as a thank-you.

How much it costs on PC

The cheapest place right now is Steam itself: €4.12 (no fees), with a launch discount applied. We don't know when that discount ends, and we haven't got a reliable euro figure for the undiscounted price, so we won't guess one.

Key shops are all above that. Kinguin sells the Steam Key at €5.55 (€6.30 with fees), Gameboost at €5.95 (€6.19 with fees) and Key4Games at €5.98 (€6.46 with fees). For once, the reseller key is the worse deal by about two euros.

We've only been tracking it for a day, so there's no price history to lean on yet. If you'd rather wait for a lower price later on, set a price alert and we'll email you when it drops. You can also compare every Pit of Goblin key offer on its page.

On Xbox, or with Game Pass

If you've got Game Pass, you don't need to buy anything: it's in the November batch. To own it on Xbox, the Microsoft Store ES has it at €7.99 (no fees) as an Xbox Series Key, and that's the only offer we have on its Xbox page.

Prices checked on the morning of 5 November.
